We, ve enjoyed our stay at Umlani very much. Everything was very well organized from the first until the last minute. We've enjoyed the game drives, the bush walk with the ranger, the meals and the stay in the hut . Taking a shower under the stars has been a special experience.

Perfect balance/amount of rugged Safari Bush camp and hospitality and comfortable accommodations. Staff are fantastic. Food delicious. Safari drives 2x/day by knowledgeable guides. Wonderful value as well. No power makes it authentic. Smaller number of camp huts makes experience much more intimate, allowing you to get to know your fellow safari mates.

We recently stayed at Umlani as part of a two reserve trip to the Timbavati and then we travelled on to Sabi Sands. What can I say about Umlani? I was visiting with my elderly parents who are both nearly 80 and the staff of Umlani took them in like family, helped them to get in and out of the...

First of all, I should let you know that I am a wimpy camper - I don't like being off the grid - and I was a little nervous about staying at Umlani. However, it turned out to be the highlight of a most memorable trip to South Africa! My husband, my 14-year-old son and I had a fabulous time,...

We will definitely return to Umlani. It's a beautifully rustic bush lodge but has all the comforts one needs. The staff are so friendly, kind and interactive without being too forward. The game Rangers were delightful, SO informative and extremely experienced in the bush....we had some amazing sightings. There were some lovely touches too, with beautifully "created and crafted" table...

If you want a five star animal and bush experience without the (unreal) spas and free flow of French Champagne, go to Umlani. Being uncomfortably and/cold, scratching around in the pitch black because of the lack of electricity etc is part of life and if one hasn't experienced it one should. Great location, terrain, animals, people. I did not want...
