We stayed here 4 nights after spending 5 days in Botswana at a mobile camp site. It was definitely luxurious in comparison. Front office staff and managers were hospitable and accommodating. Our group had the entire lodge. Had one of the best massages ever at their small spa. Food was delicious, and they surprised us with a breakfast and a...

What a magnificent location to spend my 50th birthday at. The game viewing was fantastic seeing the Big 5 in our first two drives, our Guide and Tracker were very knowledgeable and keen to teach us different things about animal behaviour and the local fora and fauna. They both had such deep respect for the bush and the wildlife. Having...

This was our first stop on our first visit to Africa, and it was incredible! We saw all the Big 5 (if you need a reminder: buffalo, rhino, elephant, leopard, lion) within 24 hours, as well as zebra, giraffe, hyena, warthogs, all kinds of deer and birds - and I could keep going. Our ranger was Grant, and our tracker...

THis is an interesting place to see wildlife. Because it is private land, the guides are very aggressive and the wildlife seems to be habituated to this behavior - surprising how close and fast the jeeps go. THis is very different from seeing wildlife in the big national parks in Zimbabwe and Botswana where the guides are very careful, drive...

We stayed at Thornybush Game Lodge as part of a travel package that did not break out cost, so were not aware of the pricing until we asked. When we asked the about the average nightly cost, it was very surprising that we were able to experience such luxury at that price: it covered the beautiful room (see detail below),...
