Over the past 3 years I've had the pleasure to stay at 4 different lodges in the Thornybush Collection. A culture of service excellence is to be found at each lodge and really nothing is too much for the staff. They are so obliging. Accommodation is of a high standard and the game viewing is exceptional. Rangers and trackers are...

Jayne and I spent four days at Thornybush as a special 50th birthday present for Jayne. It's hard to put in words just how special was our time at the reserve. It started brillIntly with a welcome reception from Chantelle with hot towels and liqueurs, who could not have been more helpful. Everything about our stay was wonderful - starting...

As we walked in, a Nyala and a Warthog were eating the grass next the the dining area... so cool! The water hole was surrounded by Cape Buffalo, a Giraffe and some Baboons! We were off to a great start....

Safaris were done by knowledgeable rangers and trackers. We had a surprise dinner outside of the lodge which was very cosy with fires everywhere and great food. The rooms were...

Our first photo safari with Thornybush was simply great. Wonderful rooms, fantastic service, really good food. But the reason you come here is to view wild African animals in their home. Incredible. Our field guide team was exceptional. If you ever thought about doing a photo safari, do it.

Venue - The Thornybush Private Nature Reserve is a 15,000 hectare game preserve adjacent to Kruger National Park. We stayed at the Thornybush Game Lodge - a quaint group of common structures and 20 private cottages that face the preserve.
