Just four magnificently appointed chalets sleeping only eight people, right in the heart of Big Five country within the borders of the greater Kruger National Park!!!! Without a doubt, Naledi offers you the most personal, intimate experience anywhere In the region – and at a price often less than half of what you would expect to pay elsewhere! At Naledi we only ever have a maximum of eight guests on our game viewer, only eight relaxing on our beautiful swimming pool deck overlooking the river bed and our private waterhole where one can enjoy the daily parade of animals and birds coming to drink and feed in total peace and tranquility. Our lodge is our passion, showing people our private piece of wild Africa our greatest pleasure, and that means introducing you to the bush and all its creatures, from lions and elephants, to antelope and birds is something we always look forward to ! At Naledi you’ll find aircon throughout, delicious meals, elegant surroundings, a fabulously stocked bar, fun, relaxation and excitement in equal portions, but best of all, you’ll arrive as strangers, and leave as friends!!

We stayed in the nadeli lodge for three days, which was a perfect amount of time for the purpose of stay.
Food - the food at the lodge was delicious every single crum and I say my absolute regards to chef Dudu for that. My mum is a coeliac (gluten free) and was catered for completely. Main meals are decided three times a day breakfast, lunch, dinner. There is a set meal for each meal for instance we had a meaty dish I think it was a lamb dish with some mash if you don’t like mash or a vegetarian you could of course be able to ask chef Dudu for a substitute instead and she would be happy to accommodate to those needs. They provide food six times a day during before game drives as well as the main meals. So you are fed very well indeed.
Rooms - we opted for the lead wood suite as we are a family of four. We had a plunge pool to our selves and two en suites bedrooms and a mini kitchen type thing. We had views of the savannah which we saw many baboons and a few warhogs. Which was amazing. Amenities included safe drinks (not free) / shampoo and shower gel etc lounge area. In a whole one word luxurious.
Safari - we got to see all big 5 and the other big animals. We could tell the staff we wanted to see a hippo they would take us too one. So the staff are well trained for the job. Our game drivers were opua and a person called excellent they were both so kind and so knowledgeable.
staff - all staff were very kind and very helpful to anything we needed to know. The receptionist Gloria was so helpful, we wanted to a do a game drive on our own and she was able to help us with our inquiry.
No criticisms could be made.
Little touches are made in the lodge which is so nice like cold towels after game drive, room being cleaned twice a day and much more.
We loved every moment of our stay and to finally finish our stay all the staff gathered and waved us goodbye.

We originally found Naledi whilst doing our research on line and decided that this was the place we wanted to go to, to experience our first safari. We therefore planned out entire South Africa trip around it and boy was it the best decision we ever made, save for inviting our grown up family along!! From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. We stayed in Rockfig and Leadwood, which were beautifully decorated, immaturely clean and offered a window to the wildlife. Within moments of arriving a message from our daughter told us of a bull elephant bathing and drinking in the water hole they overlooked which was fabulous. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed 9 safaris with Oupa and Excellent. Two amazing guides- funny, intelligent, experienced trackers who could find anything from an elusive black rhino, sleeping in the undergrowth to a tiny chameleon in the treetops in the pitch black! Turning corners to scenes you’ve only seen on your TV, to a pride of lions walking past the jeep, rhinos wallowing in the river and a leopard in the tree with her kill and baby hyenas playing by their den says everything! The food at the lodge was fantastic too and the excitement continued every time in terms of where it’s served every day or night, but experiencing it round the fire pit whilst seeing the Milky Way and shooting stars is impressive! Finally we have to mention our wedding anniversary. Returning to candles, rose petals and a bath run for us was very special. However the surprises didn’t stop there with our evening meal planned at the girls lodge, with cake, champagne and singing and dancing from the whole team was beyond our dreams, not least because the whole event was supported by an elephant tromping round in the background. The entire team at Naledi deserve every accolades possible. They work tirelessly to make your experience something that dreams are made of and whilst it’s hard to shout out the front of house and guides, without mentioning everyone in the background- Tk, Lillian, Angel, Oupa and Excellence you are very special to us and we will remember you forever for the incredible experience you gifted us. We will be back and can’t wait to see the exciting things you have planned.

If we could give 6 stars for our 3 day stay at Naledi we would!
My wife and I visited Naledi for 3 days in January 2025. We were incredibly well taken care of by Marise, Matthew, Lilian, Decide and Chef Dudu throughout our stay. The food was delicious, our room in the Paperbark suite and the entire property is meticulously maintained, and they made incredible efforts to make our trip as enjoyable as possible. They succeeded!
The game drives with Oupa and Excellent exceeded every expectation. They are true experts at guiding and tracking the majestic animals in the Balule reserve, and just incredibly lovely gentlemen to spend time with. We saw so much - yes, the Big 5, but also warthogs and hyenas and giraffes and hippos and zebras and impala herds and beautiful birds; sunset and sunrise and a rainbow one morning took our breath away. On our final sundowners, Oupa and Excellent took us by the Olifant River where we enjoyed the sunset and drinks surrounded by hippos and a grazing rhino. Each day felt like a treasure hunt - we gave very little input, allowing Oupa and Excellent to do their thing, and loved every minute.
This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime trip for my wife and I, as we were visiting South Africa from the US for a friend's wedding. I went back and forth between the more well-known reserves (Sabi Sands, Timbavati) and was unsure what we'd be able to see in the summer season (our visit was in late January) - I'm so glad we chose Naledi and if there's ever an opportunity to visit South Africa again, we will be back!

We are a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 9 and have just spent 3 wonderful nights at Naledi Bush. The lodge is magnificent, we were in a Marula suite which is made up of 2 separate bedrooms, a shower room/toilet and an outdoor terrace. The bedding is quality, the air conditioning is efficient and not noisy, the decor is tastefully done in a rustic colonial style. The lodge has 4 levels of observation deck, the lowest of which overlooks the dry river bed and the highest - a panoramic view of the reserve and a watering hole where many elephants come every day. The cuisine was of very high quality, it was fine and delicious. The lodge has 3 "hides" - wooden houses located opposite a watering hole where you can spend 2 hours observing the animals coming to drink: it's a very nice experience and is included in the price of the room, as well as the Bush walks (which we did not do) and 2 Game drives per day.
Contrary to its reputation, Balule has a large number of predators. We were able to observe a leopard up close, both day and night, and we saw pride lions on several occasions, as well as rhinos, giraffes, zebras and other herbivores. And of course elephants, we saw large numbers of them, and very close. We have been to Kruger, Sabi Sands and Timbavati but it is here that we observed the most elephants and at the closest.
The reserve has a very varied landscape, open plains, wooded hills and of course the banks of the Ollyfant River where we were able to observe many hippos. The landscapes are splendid. Our driver and tracker were very professional, knew how to find the animals and bring us as close as possible, also offering a very nice off-piste experience. I regret that my information on the animals was not very abundant and that they spoke much more among themselves in Tsonga than with us in English but that did not prevent us from having a very good stay. I recommend.

Exceptional service, the room was large and tidied twice a day, great food, guides can get very close to the animals, modern and very good facilities. Many times it was possible to see animals in the yard (both small and large ones like elephants). The hotel is protected by an electric fence. The staff is always attentive to the needs and courteous. I only have very good things to say about Naledi.

This weekend was mind blowing, beyond words. From our arrival until our departure we were treated to the most delicious and beautifully presented meals and a surprise birthday cake. Our room was luxurious with a view to a watering hole approximately 40m from the deck and saw many elephants, impala, kudud, warthogs, baboons and lots of birds visiting meters away. Our game drives and walk is where we spent most of or time and worth every second. Oupa and Excellence has wealth of knowledge and experience in the veld and going at high speed 3 times to rush to a possible leopard siting. When an animal was spotted they would assess the situation and numerous times we were taken within meters of the anumal, wthout putting anyone or animal in danger. We saw a big male lion, black & white rhino, giraffe, elephants including Ezulwini, big dominant bull of the park, hippo, crocodile, lots of impala, waterbuck, kudu, duiker, klipspringer, steenbok and highlight was spotting a leopard in a tree on our final drive. Visiting Naledi should be on everyone's bucket list. We are planning an annual trip to Naledi as this was one of my best experiences I have ever encountered and the memories are entwined in my soul.

If you are looking for a hotel to have the best safari experience, this will be your choice. Among all the ones I researched, this was the one that presented the best value for money and I really got it right. I traveled with my father and we were treated very cordially and enthusiastically by the team from start to finish. Everything was very clean, organized and the game drives were practically private, it was just my father and I in the cars, with two guides. As the property is small, you feel quieter and in a more intimate environment. Highlight for Guia Vuyu (I think that's how it's spelled) who proved to be an excellent professional, always with a smile on his face and made a total difference in our trip! We had a lot of fun! Chef Dudu always prepared delicious food and treated me to a birthday pie and a beautiful dinner by the fire. Sensational! The receptionist Nina also made our stay extremely pleasant and so did everyone else on the team. It's certainly a place to come back to again and again!

Pure Luxe on small scale Lodge in the middle of the Balule Reserve. Hospitality was fantastic, the lodges are large, atmospheric and clean. You feel right at home and have several terraces and swimming pools to use. The game drives are unforgettable and the guides will answer all your questions. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all 5* and if you want to eat something else (due to allergies or children) this is not a problem and the kitchen knows how to make a party of it.

Everything about Naledi was incredible!! From the moment you arrive and are welcomed by the staff as you pull up, the experience is fabulous!! The staff are incredible, making sure you are well taken care of and enjoying your time at Naledi. Our room was absolutely wonderful...the bed was so comfortable and I loved the way the entire glass wall opened up to our patio and plunge pool. It may have been winter and the water cold, but I still went in. The meals are incredible and they really do go out of there way to meet any and every dietary need you may have. Every meal was special and the cook and serving staff are exceptional. You come for the game drives and they don't disappoint! On our first drive we saw a pride of lions, rhinos, a male lion, elephants giraffes. We saw all the big five as well as, wild dogs, hyenas and more!! I would always say that it's not the big 5...it's the big 7, because sunsets and sunrises are like nothing you have ever seen before....they really are absolutely incredible and I never got tired of them! The overall experience more than we could have hoped for and one that my wife and I will never forget! I am very thankful that we chose Naledi and I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone wanting a fabulous safari experience!

Look nowhere else! We have just returned from a fantastic and amazing 5 day stay at Naledi. I cannot find enough words to describe how wonderful the Lodge and staff are. Although having stayed there previously Naledi continues to exceeds our expectations every time we visit. From the high quality accommodation, to the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, through to the amazing knowledge and skill of the guides we cannot fault anything. The in-house staff led by TK and assisted by Lillian, catered for our every need in a professional and helpful manner. The food provided was plentiful and to an excellent standard. Our morning and evening drives were unbelievable with some amazing sightings that included the Big 5, all on at least 2 occasions, wild dogs (a rarity given they are an endangered species), hyena, jackal, hippo to name but a few. Our guide, Oupa, was a font of knowledge and our tracker, Excellent, could find a needle in a haystack as he missed nothing. The Naledi family are second to none and we look forward to our next visit 😀. Thank you to Kjell and the team.
