Been bringing clients to Umkumbe for many years now and they never fail to deliver on their service standards. You can never guarantee the wildlife sightings because this is not a zoo but the guides here go the extra mile to try and make it memorable. The recent leopard sightings were astounding - it took serious skill to find them...

The service and friendly staff were amazing at this camp. This includes everyone from guides to cooks to room staff. The cook to order eggs were a pleasant surprise. Views of the river and mischievous monkeys in camp were quite entertaining. Guides were outstanding.

This lodge is the best place to stay! The staff are super friendly, rooms are great, food is very nice and plenty of it. Our guide, Johann was superb. His knowledge of all of the animals and their habits was astounding. We couldn't have asked for anybody better. Ford, our tracker was amazing. He spotted a chameleon on a tree...

My wife and I have staying several lodges in the area, about 7, and although this lodge is by no means horrible it represents comparably very bad value for money. Below is a comparison to a lodge we stayed in, also inside Sabi Sands and it was actually cheaper; "Umkumbe"10 per vehicle Vs "Other" - 8 "Umkumbe" Buffet (cheap meat...

As you know, it is all about the guides and drivers and their knowledge that make the biggest difference on a safari. It was our first trip to Africa and our first safari. The guides were well-educated and able to predict animal behavior (very important) and give details that others would not have known. I am a biology teacher, so...

This really is a small piece of paradise. I only managed to stay for one night which got me on a night game drive and a dawn game drive. I have to say however that I saw almost all you can in that time. The lodge is perfect, great staff, good food and a location to die for. I will...

Umkumbe Camp So, the way it works, is that Sabi Sands game reserve is huge. It borders Kruger National Park. There are no fences between the two. At Sabi Sands, there are several "camps" where companies own the land and have put up lodges. Each "camp" or lodge is different. Some work together and allow safaris to cross-over from camp...

This Lodge is a fabulous destination for great safari. Located in the centre of the wildlife action, every game drive is an exciting discovery and not only.. from a comfortable deck chair placed on the edge of the lodge's pool, I was able to clearly observe a herd of elephants playing in the river bed!

three marvelous days at Umkumbe, a small lodge in sabie sands private reserve. It is very comfortable (choose a suite overlooking the river) , the food is good, the rangers very professional and friendly, the all staff very dedicated. We saw lots of animals during the game drives and in between the elephants come close to the lodge as it...

It was breathtaking! We stayed 5 night and I would not have made it shorter. The bushed turned into the garden of Eden with Leopard butterflies everywhere and colorful magnificent birds rivaling for our attention with the giraffes, antelopes, hyenas, buffalo, and Elephants which were often seen from the lodge when they came to the river. The staff was fabulous...
