Joe and Sara Jean are sweet people with servant hearts. They are attentive and willing to help, but not hovering. It was so peaceful there. Ample amenities, including a grill and a fire pit, if you want them. The wi-fi was good, esp. for being so far out. We even streamed the World Cup Final. The price is reasonable too. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The motel is small and quiet. It was clean and well-maintained. It's very convenient to a lot of nearby Gila National Forest attractions, much more so than lodging in Silver City. The only slight negative was that the evaporative cooler was fairly noisy and did raise the room's humidity (although it did cool the room sufficiently). The closest restaurant is about 10 miles away with limited hours, so keep that in mind. The owners were friendly and helpful. Would stay again, no question.

This hotel is an excellent choice for visiting the Lake Roberts area. The cabins are rustic but clean and in good repair, and the host are extremely friendly and helpful. The wifi worked well, and we has a complete kitchen with all utensils, which is a necessity in an area with NO restaurants. If you are looking to stay at the Ritz Carlton, you are going to be disappointed in this hotel and likely will not enjoy and activities found in the area (no designer clothing and handbag stores here, thank god). The hotel would be a little on the expensive side if it were in a less remote area, but given the cost of operation in an extremely remote and isolated location it is surprisingly affordable. I cannot believe that anyone would rate this less than 4 stars. I will stay here on my next visit.

It was a beautiful area and beautiful scenery, but the hotel itself was not so pleasant. Upon check in we were given quite a few rules and regulations for the "cabin' we rented that slept up to 9 people (which there was only my husband and myself that night) at almost $150 for the night. The "cabin" is a tiny one room house that has 2 Queen beds in one room and a pull out couch in the little living room, so how they figure nine people in there, I'm not sure. Once we entered the house, they had little notes here and there of what not to do, plus a full book of do's and don'ts to follow during your stay. And besides many of these rules were the words "force charge". I think the one that got to me most was the $45 force charge if you didn't clean up the kitchen up to their standards before you left. I mean come on? $150 for less than 24 hours and we have to clean up after ourselves? Isn't maid service included in the hotel fee? Needles to say my husband and i did not enjoy ourselves one minute in the " cabin " for fear that we would end up with some crazy charge on our card because we broke one of their rules!

We enjoyed it so much on our last trip in New Mexico we decided to go for Labour Day weekend. It's situated in such a nice spot and the rooms as so cosy and beautiful it makes for a perfect romantic getaway. We brought our food with us this time, cooked in the room - kitchen has everything - and just chilled the whole weekend. The hosts are so nice and helpful and really make you feel at home. Really love this place.
