High Country Lodge is one of the last hold outs in a desolate town. The innkeeper was gracious, having been on the job less than nine months, and directed us to a wonderful restaurant in Socorro, about a 30 minute drive east. But, we were inspired by the town's mission to resurrect this place and decided to take the risk...

If you’re in need of cheap accommodations or can’t find anywhere else to stay then this hotel might work for you but I would suggest driving past and finding elsewhere to stay. Our experience at this hotel wasn’t pleasant. We arrived tired and hungry only to find that the restaurant is closed and has been closed for some time. The...

We had an issue with our room. Hotel staff and owner were extremely understanding and offered to do whatever they could to accommodate our request. Follow up over the phone after our visit was extremely pleasant and professional.

Nothing Fancy but the price was good, small room, clean, Wifi Satellite TV Don't expect someone to be at front desk all the time or even part of the time. Motel Cafe closed. One restaurant in town and only serves breakfast. Apparently this town has seen better days in the past. But for the last 7 years it has hit...

We needed somewhere close to the VLA as it was getting late. This is an interesting Economic Development project. Motel is old but it was clean. We had a microwave and refrigerator even if they did take up most of the bathroom counter! Bed was good and we had flat screen tv. This is more of a hunter's place to...

I was visiting friends who have a ranch outside of "town" saw it on the web and was happy with my stay. Friendly staff. Room was small but nicely equipped with fridge, coffee pot (with coffee etc) microwave and satelite TV. Bar/package store with good food a few doors down.

An older motel that is going through some changes. Clean and comfy and a good night to recharge while traveling. Don't wait too long in the evening because most restaurants close early. Very small but nice town. I have stayed here once before and had a similar experience. I hate to use the phrase "you get what you pay for"...

I was pretty disappointed because the other reviews indicated at least an average experience. The grounds were not clean - old food wrappers and cans laying around. The bathroom had mildew growing in the shower. And we heard some critters in the walls, or under the floors that kept us awake much of the night. However, there was a super...

Room was dated but clean and tidy. The heater, however, barely worked. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and on both occasions we met and talked to the Marshall - a very interesting guy! The food was passable; staff friendly and helpful. All in all a motel that fits in with the quirky character of Magdalena.

“I was satisfied with my room located in about the middle of the layout. There is not much traffic so noise is not a problem.”
