Our "room" (a full on apartment, actually, 1400 sq ft or so) could sleep six easily, 8 in a pinch. Directly overlooks Chimayo's old Plaza (perhaps finest of its kind in N.M.) Grounds cover several acres and are lovely to peruse. Stairs to 'our' apt might intimidate the elderly; there are 14 or 15 steps, also, essentially there's no TV....

First impressions ARE lasting and when the wooden gate opened at Rancho Manzana to the greeting of it's lovely Matriarch and her two happy dogs, I knew we were off to a good start. On the welcome tour of our upstairs apartment ,with each room we walked in I went "Awe" Wide open space with beautiful light, appointed very stylishly...

The breakfasts were delicious and ample servings. We were there for two days, the first morning Jody prepared a pear torte with pears fresh from her tree. The next morning was French toast with sauteed bananas. Both breakfasts included a meat, fruit with yogurt, coffee, and juice. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was broken where we were staying, which wouldn't have...

We stayed just two nights in this amazing B&B as part of a trip for our niece's graduation from UNM. Jody and her dogs welcomed us at the gate and showed us to the East Casita. She asked us when we wanted breakfast--anytime between 8:00 and 10:00! The small adobe cottage is delightfully appointed with a comfortable bed, loveseat across...

I stayed at Rancho Manzana on our way to Chaco Canyon and what a wonderful respite it was. It had a beautiful outdoor kitchen and grilling area, the gardens and its surrounding flora and fauna abounds and the night sky was spectacular! The indoor accommodations are clean and comfy and I felt very welcomed.Absolutely magical! It was also fascinating to...

I stayed here with a friend on our way to an epic NM journey to Chaco Canyon. After driving from Santa Fe through beautiful red mesas, we arrived to the most wonderful home cooked meal in the outdoor kitchen. We basked in the warm late sun while picking cherries and strawberries. After the sun went down I sat by the...

We booked both of the rooms for six days. Everything other reviewers have said about the breakfasts, the quiet, and the hostess we could say all over again, in spades! One thing to add: Take Jody’s suggestion to read Sabino’s Map: Life in Chimayó’ Old Plaza by Don Osner. You can get it from from Amazon or other on-line used...

There are not enough stars to rate this magical place. Accommodation s are superb. The food was more than ample and gourmet quality. Just down the block was the small Chimayo museum and ortegas shops w local art and crafts along with a well stocked bookstore. Excellent restaurant within walking distance. Peace and serenity plus

We were fortunate to find Rancho Manzana through wonderful reviews. We visited on a blustering bitter day in March. My daughter could envision her perfect wedding here, and owner Jody Kent-Apple gave us confidence we could bring the event together with the bride far away. September arrived at last and we opened the gate to a radiant garden, the arbor...

Simply, this is a love letter to Rancho Manzana. This property offers much more than a bed and breakfast experience. It is a rare glimpse into a unique way of life. The RM website provides all of the necessary specifics. My review is more about magical ambiance and immersion into history. Owner Jody Apple is such a gracious lady to...

“We loved our West Casita's large deck and expanse of windows. It offered a glorious view of the grounds, sunrises, and sunsets. And that New Mexico nighttime sky was spectacular, as always.”

“The cottage was nicely decorated in soothing shades of gray, cream and blue. Air conditioning is not needed here, but the ceiling fans were nice. The bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom was fine, lots of hot water. Stay here if you are exploring the area between Santa Fe and Taos.”
