We stopped for lunch on the way to Trongsa. When we asked for Indian food we were told that the only food we could get to eat was Chowmein noodles. We asked for rice, vegetables and a salad. Each of these food items were stated to be unavailable. The people on the other tables were being served with all these...

Don't expect the best facilities when you stay here. But what this place lacks in luxury, it makes up with the warmth of the hosts. I know the Chendebji is more of a lunch stopover before heading to the Central parts, but staying there for a night was a marvelous experience. The hosts were wonderful. They treated us more like...

The first thing that greeted us, upon arrival, after hours and hours in our mini-bus on the road from Punakha, was a lovely warm pot-belly fire. It was cold, so this was a lovely touch. Again, buffet style, food was wonderful.

Stopped for lunch on the way to and from Bumthang. It's another buffet ... The food was fair and the service business-like but with not too many smiles around. There is a tourist shop attached with (what appeared to me to be) some good quality thankas. The toilet facilities are best described as basic

I have rated this establishment as "Average" compared to Bhutan standards and not to Western standards. The title “Resort” is somewhat of a misnomer compared to Western descriptions. When we arrived we were told the power had been off for a fortnight and the power company was waiting for parts to arrive from India before power could ever be restored....
