I travelled to Phu Quoc with my boyfriend and stayed 2 weeks at Ancarine Beach Resort. This hotel was super nice! Very friendly staff, amazing breakfast and a beeeeeaaaaautiful beach.

What I loved the most was that it was so peaceful! The hotel is basically in the middle of a garden. There's also a couple of cute Phu Quoc dogs living in the hotel, but they let the guests be. Mostly they follow the staff or sleep.

There's a small village close to the hotel, just walk about 15 minutes and you'll find a bunch of restaurants and a grocery store. The hotel lets you borrow a bicycle for free, if you like.

If you come here, you have to check out the sunset at the beach (hotel has a private beach with a restaurant/bar). So beautiful.
The beach has a few rocks at first when you go to the ocean, but after that just clear sea water. Also very good for snorkeling on a sunny, not so windy day. You can borrow a kayak or a sup board for free there too.

When we left, the hotel kindly paid our taxi to the airport. So friendly, thank you again for a lovely stay :)

We researched thoroughly and were not disappointed. Incredibly quiet and peaceful except for the jazzy style of the 'crooners' at the up market next door Mango Bay.

Breakfast OK but could do with more variety for Western tastes. Good egg station. No noise from road traffic, aircraft, animals/pets, motorised water sports etc.

Almost adults only when we visited. Beach cleaned daily – no rubbish to be seen.
Large swimming pool was exceptionally clean. Hotel not used by package tour operators so ideal for independent travellers seeking tranquillity without any entertainment
.
Rooms like the entire resort were very clean and well serviced. We had a squeaky ceiling fan that was fixed within 10 minutes - thank you.

Our semi-detached bungalow was about 50m from the lovely sandy beach and gentle sea. Beware rock areas in the sea. Lots of steps and walkways not very even so caution advised for guests with mobility issues.

Sunbeds were always available. Owner Mr An was visiting and by chance stopped to give us a lift one evening in his car to the local village about 15 minutes walk away.

Sales/reservation Thuy and assistant manager Ngan were valuable sources of independent help and a credit to their hotel and industry. Free hotel transfers provided exactly as promised. Thuy loves her job so much that she answers email inquiries from other time zones when she should be asleep! All the staff were exceptionally service orientated and keen to help guests.

Final bill was under stated so we corrected as otherwise they would have been out of pocket.

Recommend a one day tour of the south of Phu Quoc lasting 8 hours as only marginally dearer than 4 hrs. A personal driver was included and booked through reception with a list of locations we chose to view - especially the new cable car ride of about 21 minutes one way. Note: closed 12.00 – 13.30

So far the best place we did in Vietnam !We took the bungalow on the beach, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The hotel organised the pick up and return at the airport in a short time, and the check in was super quick and easy, same for the motorbike rental. An almost new honda scooter, in excellent condition.(150k/d) The resort is on the beach, like in a nice garden, with flowers everywhere and palms. The beach is beautiful and private, and its amazing to see it all day from the bungalow just in front. The little terrace in front is really enjoyable, the decoration inside is really pretty too. We had all the usual utilities, and little plants here and there. The pool was great too, directly in front of the sea! We enjoyed the breakfast on the beach too! But the best is maybe the employees here, who were truly amazing during the whole stay . Really nice people, they helped us a LOT with our stay, for the places to see, and the restaurants to choose,etc..... Will definitely come back !!.

This is a beautiful resort on a clean calm white sandy beach. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They even offer free pick up and drop off to and from the airport. The breakfast at the hotel is excellent. We found the food menu a little pricey compared to the local restaurants but it’s very convenient if you are having a relaxing day on the beach. The cocktails are very good and they offer 30% off during their happy hour.
A few things to consider
- the hot water is solar powered so the shower is always only warm never hot. This didn’t bother us as it is very hot outside and it was nice to cool off
- they give you a new pool towel every 3 days to help with being environmentally friendly (also didn’t bother us as towels dry quickly in the heat)
- the rooms are a little tired , but they are spacious and clean. The bed is very comfortable

I stayed at the Ancarine Beach Resort twice now and probably will go back in the future.
It is located about a 20 minute drive from the city center.
Check in/out absolutely flawless. The front desk manager Thuy is lovely, kind and so helpful. Everything I requested she made happen.
Breakfast is included, on my first stay it was al a cart, due to the low number of guests. My second stay they had the buffet open. Very good.
The restaurant was OK for other meals, resort prices though.
I had a beach facing bungalow with a wonderful view of the ocean. Bed and linens were nice, room was clean, the bathroom was one of those Eco deals, which I'm not real fond of but wasn't a problem.
Paid 1 million a night, paid 120 K per day for motor scooter rental.
I swam in the ocean every day. My stay was quiet, peaceful, beautiful. Nothing but bliss. Very few guests, due to Covid. So that helped with the quiet peacefulness.
For me that's quite a bit to pay every night but for a place right on the beach it's very good.

Stayed here for three nights at the beachfront bungalow, which was situated quite close to the beachfront.

There were plenty of sun lounges under the shade and spent most of my days just lounging on one of the sun-beds.

The bungalow itself was minimalistic and semi-clean except the sheets had stains and the bathroom could have been cleaner - there were weird stains near the mirror and on top of the toilet cover, so housekeeping definitely needs to scrub it down with industrial strength chemicals. God only knows when it was properly cleaned. Oh, and be prepared to go to the toilet when other guests are walking near your bungalow lol.

Although there was a flat screen TV, there was barely any reception and only two channels worked while the rest of the channels just had static.

The food in the restaurant was basic but quite tasty (went there for all my meals), though the breakfast spread was a bit of a letdown if you’re a late riser like me as most of the food will be gone and not replenished. Wish they offered an à la carte menu instead, but the workers are lovely, especially Ms Hien, and there’s also a cute resident beach dog who likes to look at you while you eat.

Don’t bother with the massages next to the beach…the skinny lady wearing the beach hat couldn’t even be bothered to give a proper massage, just rubbed me down with some oil.

Will definitely come back next time for a relaxing stay but hope the hotel can improve on some of the above factors.

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and comfortable place to stay - this is your place. The staff are fabulous and the place is immaculate. Easy to walk to many local restaurants and easy to rent a motorbike. Heaps of beach chairs and pool chairs. Free use of masks, snorkels, fins, kayaks and SUPs. Nice breakfast and happy hour.

I had a great stay here. The beach was lovely, everything was clean, and the staff were very friendly. It was a bit quiet as it was low season (not to mention Covid), but the peace and quiet were wonderful. There was an awesome breakfast every morning. The restaurant also had good options for lunch and dinner on lazy days. There are a few restaurants open within easy walking distance so you can try other things as well. I was able to rent a motorbike and book a snorkeling trip easily. There is some snorkeling available on the resort, and masks and snorkels available, but you'll see more on a trip.

We stayed at Ancarine Beach Resort for two weeks. Very friendly, helpful and service minded staff. They all speak English.

The location is beautiful next to the ocean and close to nature. The resort is not made for wheelchair or strollers, even though the staff would probably find a way around it. Nice clean rooms with air condition, fridge, kettle, safety deposit box and mosquito net. The guests are from all over the world.

Free use of sun chairs, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and bicycles. Clean beach and water.

Great breakfast with lots of fruit and omelettes on demand. Overall good food in the restaurant with nice staff. Good service!

We would love to come back!

This is a lovely hotel right on the beach and yes you can hear the waves from the Beach Bungalow we were in. Unfortunately the frogs in the pond outside our room were mating which did us awake but only for a couple of nights, but that is nature. The sea outside of the hotel has a lot of rocks just off shore, but not a problem just walk either side and it’s a nice walk out.

At times you can feel like you are the only ones on the beach it’s so quiet and relaxing.

Breakfast was great, much to choose from and the egg station/pho station chef was such a lovely man and so happy. We ate there every night of our stay and the food was good! All of the staff were great and helpful.

Yes if you want snacks etc., there is a shop not too far away, but on route get your driver to stop off for you if you don’t want to leave the resort.
