The reason I came to this "resort" was that everything else was booked - here they still had a four person bungalow for me (solo) for USD 60. I was aware that it is remote. By the website (and the price) I expected some level of luxury, but nothing of that. I found the staff *not* very friendly, very weak...

My fiancee and I stayed at Mai Phuong Beach Resort in January 2011 for about three days. The overall stay was enjoyable; however, there were some disappointing elements to it. The resort is VERY remote - in fact, it is isolated. Travel time from the airport is 1 hour in some very poor quality vehicles (unless they upgrade them). There...

friendly and very helpful staff who are non-intrusive-great food and very reasonably priced-staff member went out of his way to assist in an accident negotiation- our children are young adults and did not miss the brighter lights in the main town- great family time together- will return again and stay longer than four nights- the island will change significantly (...

Mai Phuong Beach Resort was perfect for the end of our two and a half week tour of Vietnam. After being in busy cities for the past couple weeks, Mai Phuong was a quiet getaway without the distraction of the busy city life we experienced elsewhere. Keep in mind we were on a budget and like bare essentials that the...

The whole structure lies secluded in a beautiful green little bay and is rather basic. The bungalows are basic but pretty and rather clean. The tv didn't work. Only cold water in the bathroom. The bungalow's patio had a wooden bench which looked nice but was just too hard to sit and offered no chance to lie on it and...

Just wanted to post a review as I don't really agree with some of the other ratings which are high. Pros: - It is far away from the Island centre if you want a quiet stay - The family that runs it is friendly and you can get a family feel - Food is good but not cheap - There...

We stayed at Mai Phuong Resort for 3 nights over Christmas. There were 5 of us so we needed 2 rooms. We rented the VIP bungalow (very spacious, 2 queens) and a deluxe room (double and a single). In fact the VIP bungalow is big enough to be able to fit an extra couple of beds but I don't know...

Mai Phuong Beach Resort is not for everyone, but if you’re a budget traveller and you want to splurge a little, or you’re one or two steps up from the budget traveller, than this is a great place to stay. I stayed with four other people for three nights over Christmas and we all had different reactions. Mine was probably...

Well, we arrived at the airport late and no one was there to meet us, but this turned out in our favor as we were able to take motorbike taxis through the beautiful countryside, and when we arrived the owner paid the taxi fare for us. The room: the beds had mosquito nets which definitely came in handy at night,...

yes it is a long way from the airport and ferry port on the rough red dusty road and it is worth it if you want some solitude and peace and quiet. ask the owners nicely to pick you up and they will do it for free. the hotel hasnt got much of a beach itself but 300 metres up...
