We couldn't find a hotel as cheap as this anywhere in Myanmar. we had heard bad reviews about Breeze so opted for Aurora. We stayed for one night, you don't need any longer because there isn't much to do and the town isn't really set up well for tourism yet- only a few restaurants and hotels. Go to Breeze for...

We had booked ahead and warned the guest house our bus wasn't arriving until 2am. Despite this the guest house was completely shut up and no one responded to the bell until I loudly shook the metal shutters. Our room and the bathrooms seemed relatively clean and comfortable for a budget choice, although there was no toilet paper. The biggest...

We weren't sure how easy it would be to get a hotel in Mawlamyine so we made the mistake of booking ahead. Sounded good enough in the lonely planet and online. We had a room with twin beds and our own bathroom. It was old and obviously never renovated. At least in the bathroom they could have changed some things....

But not that nasty. At $7 for a single, shared cold water bathroom, this was the cheapest place I stayed in a month in Burma. The room smelled pretty bad, I assume somewhat optimistically it was moisture-moisture-related as it is rainy season. The bathroom was clean, the bedroom not so much. Manager disinterested and unfriendly, whatever, it's a place to...

This is a very basic hotel, but you get exactly what you pay for. A nice and clean bed and a clean bathroom. We had the double room with shared bathroom and we were very satisfied. The only downside was where our room were situated we had no window, so during a few power outages (throughout the city) our room...

Not in Lonely Planet, but it's a good budget if you prefer a simple set-up without a helicopter staff. My room even had a tiny of the water (though most are not like that). Consistent AC and hot water. Wifi didn't quite reach my room, but I was at the end of the hall. Good location in downtown.

It was $12 for two of us with a shared bathroom. They had wifi and the man at the desk was helpful enough - booked us a bus ticket to Dawei. Rooms are very basic and a bit loud, but in a good location. Call ahead and you won't have to wander around. Check out this blog for a list...

The owner let us stash our bags in friends' room before they had even arrived. Which allowed us to walk around Mawlamyine unfettered. The room looked clean, perfunctory albeit a little drab. Some lad was chain smoking in the reception communal area which would not have pleased me had I been staying there.

For 12$ for a double room you can't complain. We arrived at 6.20am and the owner let us rest while he sorted a room got us. No breakfast but there is a decent restaurant two blocks away. Turn left as you walk out. Bathrooms are clean and there is good WiFi for Myanmar.

“the front rooms(on lower main street) have extra, large windows, but are very bright and a little noisier, as they are overlooking main street. The rooms in the back are quieter and closer to the shared bathrooms. All rooms seemed fine to me.”
