I went diving around Tulamben with my friend on this early September. While my friend was taking the open water dive certification, I accompanied him and went to stay on this place. Friska and Martin were also very nice! not to mention I really love their dogs Niki & Lucky.

I love the place, the view, the castle-like architecture concept, and the pools! with the affordable price, I got all the necessary facilities like an air conditioner, hot water, breakfast, etc. The only thing that can be improved in my opinion I think that it would be better if they have a bidet/water gun near the closet. Coz we Asians definitely need bidets! lol.

But the overall experience was excellent! 5 out 5!

Hello Adjoyy, it was a pleasure to meet you, and we are glad that you enjoyed your time with us. We will also consider to install waterguns close to the toilets. So far we were focused on German guests and they have no idea how to use this waterguns. We hope to see you again.

Myself and three friends recently completed our SSI open water certificate through Joe’s Diving Bali.

The full experience from start to finish was absolutely amazing! Martin, the dive instructor, was very knowledgeable, relaxed, and had a great sense of humour!
The facilities were perfect for learning how to dive and we were provided with well-kept equipment for all of the dives and activities.
The price was very reasonable considering the amount that was included in course.

If you are looking to complete your open water certificates or simply looking for a centre to take some dives with, I’d definitely recommend Joe’s Diving Bali!!

Stayed for a couple of days in one of the rooms with a friend. Rooms have enough space and are super clean. Went diving and met Martin and Friska who are really friendly and welcoming. The dive gear looks great and professional and the dive center created a great atmosphere to meet fellow divers. I would definitely recommend to stay here if you want to go on beautiful dives and make more scuba friends!

I contacted them in the last minute of my trip and got a very fast response. All ini all, the whole place is very unique and I really love the tower where you can see the Agung Volcano and around. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and everything ran well. The room also has many sockets so it really helps for those who bring camera and other electrical stuff. If I could suggest anything, it would be the toilet and front door lock. Even though it wasn't very big deal, I personally like to have a bidet on the closet. I also think that it would be better to have some lock key for the front door (they provide safe box though and during my stay I felt very safe). What's even better is that you will be accompanied by very good dogs, Lucky and Wiky.

However, the highlight from my trip to Tulamben was the diving with them. I did Advance Adventure Course with Martin and some fun dives with Friska. They absolutely gave us the best service one could ever ask. I felt fun and safe all the time and they were good spotter too, I really enjoyed the macro/muck diving.

In conclusion, it was obviously worth the money for the room and diving. The people there are super friendly and will make you feel like home. Looking forward to going back!

Hello Cahyo, Wiky and Lucky are missing both of you already. Thank you for the very nice feedback and I can give the compliment back. It was very nice to meet you and know you. We are considering the doorlockers. So far Tulamben is a very safe place and we had never issues that anything disappears. I think it will stay the same but yes better to be safe than sorry. best regards from all of us.

Eventually the best place to learn diving on Bali. Why?

Location: tulamben has marvelous dive spots with astonishing underwater world, including a shipwreck from WWII.
The diving school is just a 5 min walk away from the beach. So you are very efficient and don’t loose time while sitting in a car.

Equipment: high standard, good Trainingpools

Staff: last but not least, Friska and Martin are heartwarming people, who are 100 % passionate for diving. Martins excitement for diving is still after years of teaching omnipresent. the way he explains and shows thoroughly all exercises makes you feel safe and excited to learn and practice as much as possible.

Definitely a must to school in ahmed/tulamben.

Trimakasi!

Martin and Friska are super charming and will make your diving experience perfect. If you are new on scuba diving you will experience your first steps in a real castle pool or if you are more experienced they will be open to your requests on diving sites. They have a large knowledge in the area and fish species and are super professionals. On top of that the accommodation is very atypical and cool as you are in a castle, you can witness best sunrises and sunsets from the tower. Breakfast was super nice with fresh juice, fruits, pancakes and coffee to make you ready for diving! Highly recommended!

I would like to share my experience with Joe's diving.

I learnt swimming last year and now I did my open water diver with my friend Annika and the advanced diver course with my fiancee after that.

My instructor Martin was so cool, kind and has so much patience. He has a lot of experience and great skills of teaching diving.

I felt super safe around him while diving and he really took good care of everyone who was with us.

Martin and his wife Friska are super cute together and give a very strong feeling of family, love and care.

I highly recommend you to go there and enjoy the dive experience with them.

Can’t describe the experience better with words. Martin and Friska are just amazing! Me and and my friend definitely enjoyed our 3days course and the diving sessions. The place was homey, the service was so friendly, the view from the resort was so great - sunrise, sunset, mountain, ocean, stars (you got it all!). Even underwater, both Martin and Friska helped a lot with my underwater panic issues till the point I am okay going in with out being hand-held. If you’re into dogs, you’ll definitely be happier playing around with Lucky and Wiky. Just superb experience with you guys!!!! Can’t wait to go back there!

Dear Nindya, Than you very much for the good feedback. We were very lucky for the timing with the Open-Water course. You have done very good and soon you will feel more and more comfortable under water. For sure it is already very nice now. When you are back there are still more destinations to explore which will be hopefully soon after the Lockdown. Hello from Friska & Lucky & Wiky

The place is very iconic, the architecture looks like those houses in MyCrib MTV shows haha. The room is very spacious, the bathroom is equipped with hot water and the pools are really nice. This place is also located right in front of a diving site entry. Martin& Friska (the hosts) are also very welcoming and help you with almost anything. It was a nice stay!

I visited Tulamben during the last weekend and spent 2 days with Friska & Martin and their friendly staff in the castle 🤩 I had an amazing time and wonderful dives with them, way beyond my expectations. 👆🏿Since I had the opportunity to snorkel around US Liberty shipwreck few years ago, I made a promise to myself to go back to this unique dive site and discover it under water. Friska & Martin were super friendly and calming and also very professional instructors, who always take the time to meet your needs and provide the best possible experience during your dives. They managed to convince me to a night dive at Liberty - something I haven't done for a long time, but it was surprisingly beatiful and exciting at the same time.

Highly recommended to visit them and discover the underwater life of Tulamben!
