What a wonderful little part of paradise. Once been, you will be back. The room I stayed in was lovely and peaceful. The food is varied and delicious, served by smily pleasant happy people who will bring you anything you desire (within reason). If you catch fish, they will prepare it and if a mango drops into your lap....it does, they will prepare it, no charge. They offer half price filling of water bottles and save on plastic. They use bamboo straws and are eco friendly. I am so excited and have booked my return as the hotel gets booked up early. I love this place. I travelled alone for the first time from England and felt it was my home. Everyone from owners, reception to cleaners and gardeners, so lovely. I miss it.

This was the fourth time i visited Matahari Tulamben resort and when again in the neighborhood i will stay there for sure again. This is not a fancy super deluxe resort but it has clean rooms in every standart and the food is delicious and the prices are normal. Don't expect rooms with beach and seaviews, the hotel property is pretty narrow and they used the available space to build rooms. At the restaurant by the beach ( there's no sand beach, only rocks ) they serve breakfast ( included ) and lunch and diner, everything is very tasty and price worth. They also serve lots of Thai food, so don't bother going any were else because you end up paying more for less quality. PS: If you want to eat a big steak or giant schnitzels go across the street to "chops and hops". ( German…

Situated on the waterfront. Fairly basic accommodation but you don’t go to Tulamben for luxury. You go for the diving. Water was a bit murky so snorkelling was not brilliant over the USS liberty wreck. Brilliant snorkelling elsewhere though. Tropical fish etc were amazing. Restaurant was good, dive centre staff very helpful.

Thank you for your feedback and yes, sometimes for snorkeling the conditions are not perfect. Special when too many divers visit the wreck. Better option is to do discover scuba diving to have the chance to come closer to the wreck. But we are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. Suci and TEAM.

better room than matahari 2, better food too. Dive shop is the same so no different there. Service was good. our dive instructor was very patient. but this is mainly SSI dive shop, with a number of PADI freelance instructors.

The hotel is really nice. I love the hidden spots everywhere to chill and relax. The rooms are good (different categories if you want a view or balcony etc). Hot shower, AC and wifi included. The restaurant / pool area create a lovely atmosphere and the food is good. Breakfast is included and great (you have different options to choose from). You can get massages or organize Your Dive directly with the hotel. Good value !

We had so much fun on our weekend diving trip. Within 2 days we explore 5 diving spot in Tulamben and kubu. Our Dive guide Bli Wayan is very skillful and show us lots of sea creatures including Ghost pipefish, electric clams, nudies, tiny crab and cleaning shrimp.. So interesting.. We also met 13 schooling of bumphead, schooling yellow fin Tuna and lots of coral fishes. We visited 2 ship wreck: USAT Liberty and Boga Wreck. Overall.. 6 amazing dives in 2 days.

Location: Beach front with plenty of diving options right in front of you. Options to go to Amer and kubu too which I highly recommend if you have the time Restaurant: really good! We ate here everyday for 5 days and enjoyed each meal! Rooms: basic rooms. Definitely focused as a diving resort. We opted to upgrade to the Bungalow (and thankful we did) Spa: loved the massages. Great staff who know what they’re doing. If you have long, thick hair, I cannot recommend the Hair cream treatment at the spa enough! It made my hair soft and easy to brush even AFTER going into the ocean 4x. They do get booked up so i recommend booking a day before or first thing in the morning. Overall: friendly, helpful, overall wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this to other divers - beginner…

Excellent price on rooms, food, diving and spa. We had friends staying at a resort walking distance away that was "nicer" but they paid a over double what we paid and everything at their resort cost more (ie: food, dives, spa services). The staff were all very nice here. The cheap rooms are smaller than expected so we did upgrade to a larger room. Shower handles are not set to spray down on some rooms so had to hold the shower handle instead of just being able to stand under the shower. Just fixing the shower heads so they spray down instead of out would improve the experience in these rooms. Also needed reminders most days to clean room our rooms despite us leave the room unlocked for them. Mostly, we just wanted our towels replaced, however they were very prompt when…

We booked Matarahi on recommendation of friendds who have stayed and dive with them previously. From booking - direct through the resort - and all subsequent communication including booking transport it coulld not be faulted. OUr room a deluxe room on the first floor (No.10) was spacious with a queen sized bed and space for our large dive bags. The bed was comforatable and with thick block out curtains and double doors to the balcony any road noise was barely noticable. Particularly as there is very little traffic between sunset and sunrise. There are ample areas to sit, lay and relax. The gardens are lovely shaded areas to rest between dives or just relax, while the pool area has more that enough lounges on its different levels if you prefer sunning yourself. We ate an both…

Stayed for 4 nights end of Aug 2019. We had previously stayed 6 years ago, We were in room 'Oka' it was big and spacious and cleaned daily when out for dives and the restaurant is cheap with the food mostly ok, some of the thai dishes are good. The resort is great value for money, we previously had Scuba Sereya resort booked but changed to Matahari for the shore diving of Sucis place & Drop Off. Nothing negative about the resort as an operation I just think it needs a bit of updating but thats only from the perspective of knowing what it was like 6 years ago - sunbeds and cushions and tables and chairs in restaurant all look v.tired etc. The diving is brilliant for macro, we dived by ourselves for the first day but thought we would give a guide a go as we were hoping to see a…
