We absolutely love staying here The villas are simple yet adequate We have stayed in both the standard and the deluxe villas, the deluxe villa pool is bigger We love the location The breakfast is a bit simple, so we tend to go out, however their day menu is very good and having lunch in the villa is perfect

Lovely villa with great service. A special mention to Budi and the front of house staff who always greeted us by name and remembered our preferences. The villa was clean but contained basic toiletries, sadly no body lotion which proved to be invaluable, as the water was quite harsh and made my skin dry. A word of warning, watch out for the overarching trees, there are no signs warning that the branches are low and at night the trees are not illuminated with fairy lights. I hit my head without noticing (I am only 1.6m tall) and my partner was looking down on his phone one day when he walked into a low branch which caused him to fall down and hurt his head quite badly. The breakfast selectionT was also mediocre, it is a la carte with only 4 options (from memory) and no buffet. On the plus side, the staff were always ready to customise the dishes based on dietary preferences and remember our order from earlier morning. On the plus side - the coffee was amazing! Must try even if not having breakfast. The location is perfect, the villa is surrounded by great cafes and is walking distance to Bintang supermarket and a proper gym. Great value for money and perfectly suited for romantic getaways, would not recommend for families, due to very basic pool and lack of facilities for kids. xx

We stayed at the pool villa for 2 nights. Location- Great location! In the middle of market area with nice boutiques, convenience stores, clubs, spas etc Entrance area - The entrance is pretty dull and so is the reception area; infact the welcome also didn't feel too warm as compared to our other stays in Bali. Villa- The Villa was clean and spacious with a separate living space, kitchenette and dining area. Pool did not seem sparkling clean though. The bedroom overlooks the pool and is quite a view to wake up to! Amenities provided weren't too great and comprehensive, no body lotion provided; in fact the shower gel and shampoo bottles weren't even labeled when we checked-in, and we had to ask for clarification to know what is what. Bathroom- Bathroom was huge, with a bathtub as well but the tub faced a large window without a privacy screen and we didn't feel too confident about how private it was. The bathing area lacks few safety items like an anti-slip mat (especially since the flooring is black granite), grab handles; I would've liked a hand-shower as well apart from the Rain shower, just to have a more versatile bathing experience; but that might just be a personal preference and not too many guests might care for it. Service- Service was good; though on day 1, they wanted to somehow close the kitchen earlier and hence we had to order dinner early. The Spa was also not available after 5 though we were told that last service was at 8pm. Description of the service in the Spa Menu did not match the explanation of the Spa manager. I ended up taking a Spa service at a different hotel. Food was good, breakfast is ala carte and it was tasty. The folks at the restaurant were sweet too! The place is seeming to becoming a bit worn and a bit of maintenance and upgrade in terms of amenities and services might make is a delightful place to stay.

As usual, let me start with the frontline. The security is very good (24 hrs). They are strict at the same time polite, courteous & friendly. The front desk is also 24 hours. Very polite, friendly and helpful. They let me check in early as i was early to arrive from the airport. The hotel breakfast is also very good. The breakfast is ala-carte. The serve wonderful pork/lamb ribs. The crispy duck (bebek) is truly amazing. Their in-house menu is open till 11pm. For holiday makers, do request for the in-house drink " Jamu". It is traditionally made with natural ingredients. The food is a 9/10. The jamu drink is a perfect 10/10. The villa is very clean. It is cleaned every day by in-house cleaners. Fresh towels, clean & comfortable bed with soft sheets and in-house cable TV. No disturbance. Well lighted. Clean floors and bathroom. The hotel is located at city centre and just a few minutes walk to Bintang Supermarket. Lots of restaurants, money changers, boutique coffee shops and only 1.2km from the Seminyak beach. The Customer Service in this hotel is 10/10. Feel free to talk to them. I was very happy with the service, food and friendly faces.

The villa we stayed in was heaven with our private pool and loungers. The room was very comfortable, air conditioned and cleaned every day. The staff were absolutely wonderful and very friendly interacting with us every day. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each morning and a cocktail at night. We would highly recommend staying here again. The noisy gecko kept us awake at night a couple of times but everything else was perfect.

We have stayed here many times before and it never disappoints. My wife was hospitalised this trip to Bali due to illness and Mr Ismullah and his staff at Sun Island went out their way to help us even organising a wheelchair for my wife to use during our stay. We will definitely be back again to our second home in Bali.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sun Island. Spotlessly clean with quality bedding and great pillows. Shower, toilet etc functioned perfectly. This was our final destination as we had spilt our time in Bali across 3 areas. This was hands down the best. Staff were friendly, professional and very helpful- most welcoming. We enjoyed our Brekky by the main pool with real coffee - and the staff there were so friendly, ensuring everything was to our liking, offering more coffee etc. The plunge pool area at our villa didn’t get much direct sun, didn’t bother us much as we’re not into sun-baking, however we did sit on the pool lounges and felt the warmth and relaxed. Sun worshipers always have the option of lounging around the main pool, which is lovely. Location is great. Set back from the main road, so very quiet. Close to Bintang Supermarket one way and Double Six the other way. Lots of choices around for places to eat and drink. Would definitely recommend.

This is our 3rd time here. It is great to have a peaceful hideaway from the bustle outside in the streets. The staff are great, the rooms are kept spotlessly clean and the afternoon tea at the pool is a nice little bonus. The rooms are huge and fully equipped with kitchen and a water cooler so you have drinkable water all of the time without having to get bottled water constantly. Although everything is fantastic it is now starting to show some signs of wear but nothing terribly bad. I am a travel consultant so tend to be a bit of a hotel snob only because we do get to see the best and worst and get a bit spoiled at times so expectations are quite high

Don't be put off by the entry and reception areas which are very unwelcoming and drab. Inside, the villas and common pool/cafe areas are very spacious, clean and beautifully appointed with solid elegant timber furniture, thoughtfully laid out and surrounded by verdant tropical gardens. The whole effect is a quiet, relaxing escape from the chaos of Seminyak's busiest shopping streets. The spa no longer operates and the included breakfast is uninspiring although the service in the cafe is pleasant and effective.
