The one and two-bedroom villas are equally suited to couples and small families, while larger groups can rent the entire complex, giving a total of seven bedrooms.

We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 young children. Zen and the team were so kind and helpful. It’s very easy to organise what you need via WhatsApp. We sometimes ordered breakfast the day before and the team would set it up beautifully on the table. We organised a cot and pool fence too. There are mosquitos (it’s Bali) but the team will come and set up coils and spray the bathrooms each day. Once a week they do a big spray. The location is so good. You are close to everything. 5 minute walk to the beach and La Luciola. Motel Mexicola is at the end of the street. The pool was beautiful, the perfect temperature. The villa has a bit of wear and tear but it’s still a very comfortable stay. Sampai jumpa kembali!

Absolutely loved this villa, staff were amazing and could help with anything from drivers to breakfasts and the location was perfect. Walking distance to beach & shortcut to Seminyak Square was great as we were first time visitors. Loved our stay here highly recommend.

We stayed at the Lakshmi Villas - Villa Solo over Chinese New Year and loved every minute of it. We stayed for four nights and felt it was too short!

Lovely villa with great butler service, cooked breakfast every morning and our own pool where we could to take a dip every day.

Wira and Goslee (sorry for spelling) and the rest of the villa staff were wonderful and attended to all our needs in a professional and friendly manner. We definitely want to come back with our extended family next time!

I have been to Lakshmi Villas for many times, for many years . Have always loved the staff , the location and the high end Villas themselves. Havent been since Covid ,but have just come back after a week there.
I was so disappointed with the state of the them. Poor maintenance, broken fences and wood work, tired decor, tired kitchens , tired and mismatched furniture. As an interior designer I used to be inspired by their beautiful decor. Now nothing matches or goes together ; faded and old cushions ; plastic blue ottomans; greying white towels; dirty old bag in cupboard ; poor grade soaps and shampoos in poor grade containers; pool under deck needs attention; small rocks outside and stoneware need a good clean .
The office at the front was always open , where you could organise activities, bookings etc Now everything is done by phone - not personalised.
Also there used to be breakfast included and a menu from which you could order snacks, juices, lunch etc any time of the day from an on site chef. Now a very small menu you have to preorder - very limited with a poor selection.
Wouldn’t take too much to bring the state of these Villas back to their original and beautiful state. It’s not the staffs fault - they were great ! The owners have just let these Villas go . Such a shame . I won’t be going again unless I hear they’ve been upgraded.

$290 a night and to be kept waiting outside in the midday heat for nearly an hour was surprsing

Actually our first sight of this complex and our attempted check in experience was so awful that despite having paid ahead of time, we packed up our stuff and went looking for another place to stay. I travel through bali 3 or 4 times a year and we have travelled to over 50 coutnries and this was a first.

We booked three nights at the Lakshmi villas through wotif.com and paid ahead. Our time of arrival was confirmed. We arrived half an hour after our stated time 12:30 to be told we had to wait " a few minutes" for our villa to be cleaned. Not a very relaxing environment to be waiting in. Loud music., raucous teenagers, kids screaming. AFter 5 minutes we asked how much longer we would have to wait.... 45 minutes... it turned out there was a misunderstanding and that despite the fact our confirmation said 12 for arrival the check in was for two. That is all fine... a mere misunderstanding but then the manager said he had phoned our last hotel ....he had got our details from wotif.com ....and told us we should not come so early. A complete lie.... our previous hotel had not been booked through wotif and was booked in a different time. Totally unnecssarry to lie....anyone can make mistakes....Nevertheless we waited....

After about half an hour of being left sitting in the heat, we asked if we could wait in the air conditioned office that the manger was waiting in and decided we had made a mistake with booking... it seems like a noisy lively place but a long way from anywhere and we wanted a quiet retreat. As stated in our contract, we were only required to pay for our first night and said we would do this. Manager said, no.... we had to pay for the full $900. The understanding that the management had of the wotif cancellation agreement is quite different to what is stated on the wotif confirmation and what they later told us what the case was.

We asked what the problem was and were told that the people currently in the villa had not even checked out but that they were friends of the general manager and /or attached to an embassy. Since spouse is attached to an embassy, we mentioned this. We asked to speak to general manger. Were told a) he has to be fully briefed on the facts of the case before he can speak to you b) he can only speak to people who have seroius problems. He wll phone you later in the day. Needless to say no phone call.

After more waiting, we packed our bags in the car and toured seminyak looking for somewhere else to stay.

We appreciate that we made a mistake in booking the villas and cannot comment on the facilities since we never made it into ur villa. ..they maybe fine for large groups and families but in comparison with all other places we have stayed, the management. we met leaves a lot to be desired.

Please note that we would rate this hotel as 0 -1 for service and low for location but are not able to comment on cleanlines etc...but the site does not allow you to put in a dont know

Stayed at Villa Kawi and i must say the location is as good as you will get in Seminyak The villa is just a very short walk to all the great cafes, restaurants and shopping in the area The villa is very clean and serviced daily the guys here do a great job in keeping the villa to a very good standard. Staff are so friendly and very helpful nothing is too much trouble We stayed 10 days and once again i must say this location is fantastic The big negative for this property is the roosters directly behind the villas They start crowing @ 2am and they crow and crow and crow all through the night The staff are very aware of the problem and constantly negotiate with the neighbour to have them moved but unfortunately nothing seems to work
Overall had a great stay at Kawi but the broken sleep every night is hard to take
Would love to return to this villa on my next stay but will check with management re roosters

Lakshmi villas are not the newest properties in Seminyak, which may account for how spacious they are. Our villa had a huge bedroom, a massive outdoor bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and our own pool large enough to actually enjoy, and everything was superbly maintained. And we were in villa Solo, the smallest of them, we took a peek at some of the others as we passed and they were impressive properties.

Location was perfect. Out the back door, 100m to the mall and the main street, then it was less than a 10 minute walk to any restaurant we wanted to visit in Seminyak. Out the front, Motel Mexicola, Sea Circus and the beach end of Seminyak.

As usual it's the staff who make the holiday. There're enough villas in the complex that they can have a full staff. Every one of them is helpful and friendly; they are lovely people. We ordered breakfast each day and it was delivered exactly on time, exactly as ordered and perfect. Wasn't too big on the coffee, but we found several places which afforded a nice post-breakfast walk.

Downsides few. There's a concentration of villas around Lakshmi so there was some noise at night and some people have mentioned the rooster/cockerel next door who ensure you wake in time for breakfast. Some construction was going on at a villa nearby, not one of Laskshmi's, but with the number of independent properties around there, something's going to be going on.

It was a departure for us, a villa instead of a hotel. We did visit one hotel for dinner and enjoyed the kind of hotel space but were very happy to go home to our central, private home. We were still in the pool 20 minutes before the car came to pick us up, so we must have been very relaxed.

If you're heading to Seminyak, want to be central, looked after and just have a great holiday, try Lakshmi, you're not going to go wrong.

Laksmana Garden Villas are 4 villas at the back of beautiful plot containing 5 or 6 large privately owned villas. The 4 are run by the same team of staff rather than individual teams and consist of 3 2 bedrooms and 1 1bed villa. We stayed in Villa Toba, a 2 bed. They only opened a couple of months ago and are fabulous.

The villas' bedrooms are well appointed and tastefully decorated and the bathrooms are gorgeous too. We hired a nanny, cheaply!, through the hotel, for our 6month old baby and they camped out in the other bedroom as it was too warm outside or swam with us in the pool. There are two buildings to the villas an openplan living area in a balinese style and then, on the other side of the pool, the villa's bedrooms.

The entrance to the plot is fantastically situated for the beach and is between La Lucciola and Kuteda (where Ibiza meets Bali!) and is 3 doors down from Bodyworks, the spa. The beach is empty, the sand brown and the waves great for bodysurfing. There are also lifequards infront of the hotels and, due to some mean looking rips, i'd recommend swimming between their flags!

In the evening. the staff booked us into some amazing world class restaurants and we dined in one night. There is a kitchen in the villa for snacks and a drink-stocked fridge. Breakfast was delivered each morning and it felt like the height of luxury. Also, the hotel opposite (Samaya) has a great restaurant and bar to watch the sunset and was our favourite hangout. Be warned though, we were not looking for a party atmosphere.

This is a great Villa facility with the ubiquitous helpful and delightful staff - we will definitely be returning again.
It has just been featured in Asia's Villas & Restaurants magazine (nov 06) so it's profile will be much higher as I couldn't believe there had been nothing on here before we went!

We have just returned from a week at Villa Solo - Lakshmi Villas in Seminyak and WOW having stayed at many Villas & 5 Star resorts in Bali this is my absolute favourite.

The Villa - no the website pics do not lie!

Extremely clean and well cared for
Large living, bedroom and bathroom
Large pool in the SUN unlike so many Villas in Bali so water was always beautiful and warm
Good quality thick bath & pool towels
Lovely quality bed linen and pillows
Decent size fridge to store the necessities (wine, tonic, beer etc) - which can be stocked for you on request
Quiet - yes quiet - air conditioning in the bedroom
Semi Outdoor bathroom with lovely deep bath & rain shower
Good quality bathroom & room essentials like soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer of good size & quality, emergency toothbrush & paste etc
Good breakfast - both Indonesian and American - make sure you get the fruit plates which are beautifully presented

The team

Nothing is too much for them at any time of the day or night
All polite and mindful of your privacy, but fun loving, and really go the extra mile to make sure you have what you need
Taxi’s - no problem
More Bintang - no problem
Clean the room a bit later - no problem
Arrange a driver - no problem
Early breakfast - no problem
Extra towels - no problem

The best location

Out the front path:

5 minutes walk to beach via La Lucciola (mind no sun beds on this part of beach)
10 minutes walk to beach via Ku De Ta - some sun beds on this part of beach
Body works & Cool spas 2 minute walk or if you prefer something more upmarket Legian Resort Day Spa across the road
15 or so minutes walk to Sarong, Merah Putih, Barbacoa, Saigon Street or $3 in a taxi
5 minutes to Motel Mexicola & the Rose Bar plus plenty of other shops etc

Out the back path:

3 minutes to Seminyak Square and Main Street of Seminyak & Sisterhood which seemed popular with families (not our kind of food)
30 minute leisurely walk to Mamasan & Lacalaca with lots of shops along the way
3 minutes to the bottle shop & ATM

Points for improvement?

This was hard to think of but I think the one point for improvement - not just Lakshmi but all the villas on the main entrance lane way - is improved lighting at night. I found it difficult to navigate in the dark, in heals, after rain trying to miss the puddles & if I were a solo female traveller I would not have walked that lane way alone because of lack of light.

I give Villa Solo 6 out of 5 - we loved it and we will be back many times I am sure!
