One of the best places to stay in Bali. All amenities were there with free buffet breakfast provided from them. Staff is very kind and helpful. They also provide shuttle services 3 times a day so one can choose timing as per their requirement.

Pathetic experience with the hotel staff. They are very rude and badly behaved. On requesting hot coffee they don’t give it..very bad experience on check out with the reception guy.
Property is located in a furniture market and very far from beach. Would suggest places near the Seminyak beach.

This is a villa nestled at a corner of a bustling small street with no shopping, restaurants within walking distance etc.
So if you are in bali to spend your time inside the villa, this would be a good choice but if you like the convenience of exploring bali, this may not be the best as the taxi drivers do not even know where it is even though u give them the villa's card with a map at the back. Be prepared to use google map and direct the taxi driver yourself. However, I do understand that they have scheduled free shuttles (not too frequent) from the villa to the popular spots so you just have to make sure you plan your schedule around these shuttles.
If you choose to spend time in the villa, you can't afford to be too picky when it comes to food. Their food isn't great - edible but so - so. We enjoyed a 60 min massage which was quite good so go try the spa if u can.
Now about the service, I do have some grouses. Firstly, they make you use their van to go out which is more expensive than the normal taxis. When u tell them that it's more expensive (we know the price because we took a taxi from that place back to the villa the night before), they just shrug as though to say, "well, I'm sorry but I guess you are stranded here then". They make no effort at all to suggest calling a taxi which they could. We had to walk out of the villa and get the taxi ourselves. Secondly, please do not take their laundry bags. They are highly protective of this. They will make you take out your dirty laundry and give them back their laundry bag. I suppose it's quite an expense to the villa so they have a policy for this. I would recommend that the villa actually post a sign to save guests the embarrassment.
The good stuff is that the rooms are clean and surprisingly, so is the pool in the villa. The staff is pleasant and try and help as much as they can.
I would not highly recommend this villa primarily because of its location and the villa's management seems a little calculative to me. When the staff went into the office to ask the manager whether they could lower the price of the transport, the reply was no. The manager didn't even bother coming out to see the guest. I would have even appreciated if they could have given an explanation or an offer of help to call a taxi.
Pros:
Spa (although not very cheap)
Staff is pleasant
Villa is clean and I enjoyed the pool
Cons:
Location
Food
Service
Pettiness - remember not to take or break anything. I don't think they will let you get away with it

I can't give a 3.5 / 5 but I really did not feel our experience was a 4/5.
Resort/Villa: This is a new Villa in Bali. We got a Groupon which included a bunch of other freebies (detailed review below).
No complaints about the villa. Seeing as it's new, all the facilities were in great shape. Nice private pool, gazebo, outdoor seating area, bedroom and HUGE bathroom with bathtub and a semi-outdoor shower. There's a small fridge and coffee / tea facilities are provided. I like the Narumi chinaware - very nice touch. Pool towels and slippers are provided. We did not utilise the larger main / common pool but it looks well kept and clean.
Housekeeping staff turned down the room twice a day. We tend to laze in our villa till mid afternoon before we head out for a jaunt so we would miss the first round of housekeeping that tends to take place in the morning. But when we come back in the evening, the room is always made up, fresh towels, amenities provided, pool would have been cleaned etc. Big thumbs up for that.
Facilities: The in-house spa was pretty good with reasonable prices - about USD 35 for a basic 1-hour massage. We had a 2-hour couple package and I felt the masseurs were good and it was nice that we didn't have to head out for a massage.
Our Groupon included a romantic in-villa dinner. The staff set up a small table with 2 chairs right by the pool - it was really lovely to eat under the stars. However, the food was just ok.
Food: I had a big issue with the food. Now my husband is not a fussy eater and even he felt the food was quite mediocre and sub-par. The complimentary daily breakfast was not tasty. At first I thought it's because I had the western selection so the next day, I picked the local selection - fried rice and again, it was not tasty. We ate in-room twice, the in-room food was slightly better than the breakfast but even then i would just give the food a 5 or 6 upon 10.
Now there is nothing to eat within walking distance of the Resort. So if you plan to stay and eat in-house, this may be an important consideration. This definitely affected our stay as we stayed in the Resort most of the time to relax and it's the main reason I'm not rating this property as a 4.
Service: Polite and courteous. Staff spoke basic English but had to be reminded of guest's requests e.g. we requested for our complimentary afternoon tea to be served at 2 pm daily. First day we got it on time, second day 2 pm came and went and they only started preparing it after we called the reception to enquire where our tea was. Also, on our last day, we paid extra to extend our stay by half a day as our flight was at night and we were told they had a strict check-out timing of 12 noon. So we requested they clean our villa pool so we could use it but our pool was never cleaned.
Our Groupon included a complimentary return airport transfer. Very smooth and punctual on both trips. We also utilised the in-house car and driver for a short return trip to the restaurant as we felt the price was reasonable and we didn't want the hassle of dealing with a taxi driver whom may not be familiar with the location of the resort.
Location: about a 30 - 40 mins drive from the airport with no traffic jam. The Resort is located in a residential area - you can go for a walk along the street but it's largely craftsman shops selling handmade furniture and other trinkets. As I stated earlier, there's nothing to eat within walking distance. There is however, a small minimart right outside the main gate so it's convenient if you want to buy ice-cream, drinks, snacks, etc. The hotel mini-bar isn't very expensive though.
The Resort is however, conveniently located for trips to Uluwatu, Jimbaran and Kuta. It was only an hour's drive to Uluwatu temple.
Wifi: Free wifi throughout the resort. Very convenient.
Overall it was a satisfactory stay but it could have been better if the food was tasty and our requests attended to without reminders. I think the Resort has potential and the location would suit guests who plan to head out for day trips and dining as the Villa and Pool is really beautiful and comfortable.

Dear Ms Yvonne K, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences while staying in our Villa, as it is through feedback like yours that we are able to improve our products and services, we know where we were up to. For your kind information, since a while ago this Villa took over by a very professional management company, Transera Hotels & Resorts, we did a lot of improvements with the villa services and facilities for our every guest enjoyment. The most improvements we did in FB department, changing the restaurant ambiance, breakfast menu, improving the taste and quality. And redo the menu ! Im sure when next time your travel brings you back to Bali and especially to Transera Grand Kancana Resort Villas, you will find us much better than before. When a variation needed in between relaxing in this tranquility, our Shuttle Service based on hotel schedule is available time to time...which easier for our guests go to any preferences close by. If you have any further inquiry or information needed, I would be very happy if you can send a direct email to me at dewi.tgkan@transerahotels.com. I would assist you accordingly. Again, thank you so much for your very constructive feedback. Kindest regards, Dewi Sartika - Corporate DOSM

Transera is one of those scammy Bali places that pretend to be something they're not. The word "Grand" in their name has absolutely no meaning other than Grand scam. Upon arrival at the hotel it becomes immediately clear that this is not quite the hotel you thought you booked. Lobby area looks dilapidated and cheap, staff seems unmotivated. The villas confirm the first impression: gardens, villa, pool, linens, bathroom - everything looks cheaply made, dirty and not maintained. Many guests will be tempted by the apparently huge discount to the usual rate Transera advertises online (they claim to charge up to about USD500 per night normally) This strikes me as a trick to fool people into believing they are in a class of hotels they clearly don't belong in. In short, there are way nicer options in that area so don't bother with Transera.

We visited Bali from 13th to 25th September.
Our pickup from the airport and transfer was great. I found it a little strange that the sign at the airport was in my husbands name as I did all the booking, but that is Bali for you.
The hotel is a long way from the nearest town and is actually in Kerobokan, not Seminyak. You need to remember this when getting taxis back to the hotel. Always take the card provided by the hotel with you so that you can show drivers the address. Most drivers can find their way, although when we came back from Kuta, the driver did use the satnav on his phone. Taxis are really cheap but make sure you get a Bluebird Taxi with a meter, otherwise the drivers will make up the fares as they go along. Some with meters will still try and pull a fast one though, specially at busy times, so be mindful.
Once inside the hotel is nice. It is a small and friendly complex and the staff learn your names and know which villa you are staying in after a couple of days.
We stayed in Villa 9. Very clean, huge bathroom, lovely bath, nice separate outside shower, great aircon. Outdoor space is good with a fridge and kettle provided. It was lovely having our own swimming pool but the steps into it need replacing. There were only 2 rungs which made it nearly impossible to get out of the pool on my own and I'm not short. On the main swimming pool there was a third rung which made getting in and out a lot easier.
Whilst on the subject of the main swimming pool, the decking needs replacing. There are areas which are quite rotten and there were nails sticking up which could be trodden on with bare feet and cause an injury.
Back to the villa, it could do with a bit of a spruce up on the outside, especially the woodwork and paintwork. Also, the bathroom has areas where there has obviously been a leak on the ceiling. The plumbing needs looking into as the shower attached to the bath leaks all over the floor behind the bath on use. Also the toilet got blocked and we were without a toilet overnight and were told we should use the one by the bar until it could be fixed. We were left with a plunger and my husband kept at it on and off. Luckily it cleared itself overnight and we could use it again the next morning.
The mosquito coils were a bit hit and miss. If the guys doing the turn down service bothered to light them they often broke up and were ineffective.
The bar is very expensive for Bali so we did not bother to have anything alcoholic.
The restaurant menu is a little limited and could do with a couple of plainer items such as fish and chips and croque Monsieur and chips (these items have always been on the menus of hotels I have stayed in all over the world). We had half board so after a few days the menu does feel a bit restrictive. We did not eat in every night but what we had we mostly enjoyed but couldn't work out what took the chefs so long to cook 2 steaks when we were the only people in the restaurant?
We could not fault the Reception staff. They are fantastic. They ordered McDonalds for us on 3 occasions (make sure you download the Indonesian menu if you are going to do this as it differs from what you would be used to - the Triple Cheeseburger is divine lol), which was delivered within half an hour.
We booked a driver/trips through the hotel, which are good value for money, but you only get the driver, not a guide and there are some places, specially temples, where the driver cannot act as your guide. You will get taken to various craft places but you are not obligated to buy anything.
We had a free 2 hour treatment at the spa as part of our holiday package. We had it in a couples room. The therapists did not speak much English and gave us very limited instructions and we were unsure what we were supposed to do. We weren't even sure if we were supposed to undress as we were just led to a room and left there. I ended up going back outside and asking. The massage was OK, but the scrub/mask used left us feeling very cold. It ended up with us washing off green goo in a jacuzzi with no guidance as to what we were supposed to do next, was that the end??? We got dressed after about 20 mins and that seemed the right thing to have done lol
All in all we had a good trip but I missed having a sea view and feel a bit like I've been cheated out of something having gone all that way. We did go to a few beaches but it wasn't the same as waking up to that sea view from you balcony/terrace or restaurant etc.
The hotel is lovely but needs a bit of an overhaul in places, especially that decking beside the main pool.
Would I go again, no, because I need the sea, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to others.

I didn’t find this problem when I visited. This is a well maintained property and I am sure if you do find a lizard lurking around, they will take care of it.
Hi Merc, Villas are nice, clean and Sunny when I visited couple of month ago. Nice outdoor bed next to the swimming pool with open sky and closed door gives you good privacy and unlimited fun. Few thinks to take care - Breakfast was not buffet and was limited to two items from the menu. In addition, location of the property is not great. It is far from the main market and looks like in the industrial area. Hotel provide one way transfer to the beach/main market (Seminyak) two or three times a day. Return transfer by Taxi(BYO). Female staff understands English and happy to help. Have fun. Enjoy.
Hai Jatin,
Thank you for your question, we are not applied for guarantee deposit upon check in, the only one deposit is for total amount of the room reservation before check in.
Should you need any further information or assistance, please feel free to contact us.
