From the moment I arrived, and went through the gate, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of pure luxury and tranquility. Every detail was meticulously crafted to provide an unparalleled experience. The rooms were rooms were a haven of comfort and elegance. The decor was tasteful, blending modern amenities with a touch of classic charm. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, ensuring restful nights and rejuvenated mornings. The food was sublime. The spa environment was serene and inviting, making it easy to relax and unwind completely.

But above the great surroundings, incredible food and wonderful atmosphere, the service is what makes this place so special. The staff are so professional and yet so friendly, nothing was too much and they made the stay truly special. I must return!

The Legian remains an iconic hotel twenty eight years after it first opened. Located in a prime beachfront location in Seminyak, the hotel offers excellent and beautifully maintained facilities, serviced by superbly trained staff. Whilst the food offering at the Legian is of a high quality (the breakfast is famous), there are also wonderful restaurants within walking distance (a huge advantage if like us you’re intending to stay for more than a couple of days but, also like us, want to avoid the island’s shocking traffic).

We recommend dining at the hotel’s restaurant for formal dining and at the more casual beachfront bar (pizza, satay, salads etc) but also try outside restaurants John Hardy long table, Bambu and La Lucciola (all less than a ten minute walk) and Mama San (twenty minute drive). Whatever you do, don’t go to Canggu, the new “hip” location that is only 12 kilometres away but took us almost ninety minutes in a taxi.

On some past holidays in Bali we have stayed in multiple properties but a few years ago decided we were far better off just staying at the Legian, thereby avoiding the time wasted packing up, checking out, transferring to a new hotel and hoping our room would be ready. No hotel we’ve stayed at in Bali, or indeed in the world, has better staff than the Legian. Every visit we meet other guests who have stayed regularly over decades and we fully understand why: we have too.

The breeze blows through the reception, giving a tropical welcome. The staff are friendly and polite, and strive to provide courteous service. The rooms have a calm design based on wood. It's also nice that all the drinks in the refrigerator are free. You can see the ocean horizon from the room, and enjoy the sound of the waves all day long. All the staff you meet are smiling and friendly. When you sit in a beach chair, iced water is brought to cool down your hot body. There are three pools, each with a different depth. The clientele is generally calm, and time passes quietly. For dinner, we went to a restaurant about a 10-minute walk away.

Breakfast is basically made to order. They will accommodate your request for items that are not on the menu. Fresh juice is recommended. They store cheese in a wine cellar so it doesn't melt. Unlike large hotels, they never fail to clear your plate, and the staff pays attention to even the smallest details. I recommend the French toast. It's best to have the fruit and cream removed and pour a lot of maple syrup over it.

Rooms are cleaned in the morning, and there is a turndown service in the afternoon. There are usually only two staff members on duty, so you can feel safe in your room. Room amenities can be purchased at the shop. The large beach bag is popular. Drinks are refilled once a day. When I hurt my foot and asked for my nails to be clipped, I explained the situation and they called the clinic inside the hotel.
Overall, the clientele is calm and the atmosphere is quiet. The staff are smiling and well-trained. Bali has an image of being hustle and bustle, but once you step inside the hotel it's a completely different world. This is a hotel that makes you want to go and stay there again. Highly recommended.

In this review I do not want to repeat my personal opinions and descriptions on the structure or the location, already made previously by me and other users, but I would like to highlight the real strong point of this structure, the kindness and availability of the staff without distinction. .
Let me start by saying that I am a reviewer known for being very critical and severe in my judgements, obviously always honest and loyal based on my personal experiences, but at The Legian everything is overshadowed by other things that are more important for a guest, the service, the dedication, the professionalism and empathy.
I spent five weeks in this seafront hotel and, every day of the week, I had contact with many of the staff (room and common area cleaners, gardeners and lifeguards, security workers, guys in the bar, in the restaurant). , of the reception and concierge), of whom I was deeply fascinated, for their charisma and simple and genuine smile, a sweet smile that is not forgotten, a smile that conquers you, that kidnaps you, that involves you, that overwhelms.
Here hospitality is a notable strong point, an added value and never taken for granted.
No matter how many times I have said thank you to each of them, I am convinced that my thanks have never been enough, so I believe it is only right to thank all those who make our holiday simply fabulous.

One of the largest double rooms I have ever seen. Entrance hall with guest bathroom one side and kitchenette the other side leads into a dining area with a full size table and four chairs. A large television on a TV unit separates it from the lounge area with a large settee, armchair and writing desk. There is also a Bose hi-fi system and an iPod with 15,000 songs to keep you entertained. The fridge is restocked with beer, water, soft drinks and snacks every day. The air conditioning is excellent and it has a huge balcony with a double settee. The bathroom is also huge with his and her sinks, bath and separate shower and WC. The bedroom has a large four-poster bed with anti mosquito drapes and two double wardrobes.
It is set in beautifully maintained gardens with 3 pools, 2 bars, lots of sun loungers and direct access to the private beach. The included breakfast is plentiful and of the highest quality served by happy, attentive staff.
I can't comment on the restaurant as we chose to eat out at one of the excellent local restaurants every night.

We spent 3 wonderful days here as a family. We stayed in a suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms , living room with terrace and sea view. The suite was very spacious, you had an enormous amount of space. Everything was decorated to a high standard and very well maintained. The hotel itself, is located directly on the sea. The complex is small and has a great pool. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, all food is delicious and nicely arranged. At breakfast you have a magnificent view of the pool and the sea. The staff is very friendly, everyone has a smile on their face. You can tell immediately here, the staff is a well-rehearsed team. You just feel comfortable at Legian. I want to say thank you for the birthday tart. Even if the overnight stay here is a bit more expensive, I can only recommend spending the holiday here. The location is also great, by the way, when you walk out of the hotel, you are right in the city. We hope to return to your wonderful hotel sometime.

What a wonderful hotel creating a wonderful holiday! Myself and family stayed at Legian Hotel in August 24. We were guided to a huge 2 bedroom, (+ dining room, living room, kitchenette), suite on the first floor overlooking the beach / ocean. All requirements were catered for; the room was spotless clean, bathrooms cavernous, large outdoor terrace, comfortable beds and pillows.

The hotel staff were excellent. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left, we felt they couldn’t do enough for their guests. The team were personable, approachable and went above and beyond - remembering our names, keeping us topped up with iced water all day, moving sunbeds and parasols for the perfect sun/shade mix, loaning bodyboards, booking excursions and external restaurants where required.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food and drink. We ate breakfast in the hotel daily and found the mix of buffet style fruits/juice/cereals/breads well balanced with the a la carte hot options. The menu has been well constructed with good variety of healthy and vegetarian options. The coffee was excellent. Lunch was of a high standard with wide variety of good food and well above the standard of regular poolside dining. Whilst we ate out in various restaurants across Seminyak (recommended by the hotel and all excellent), we had a truly stunning meal in the hotel restaurant. They offered a variety of special events - Seafood BBQ, Indonesian Classics etc. along with their a la carte menu. We opted for the a la carte and were blown away by the quality and standard of the food on offer. It was one of the highlights of a 2 week Asian holiday in 3 separate locations.

Hotel amenities are excellent. Whole hotel is impeccably clean and well maintained. The pools were excellent, beachfront immaculate, free bodyboards for loan and an excellent fitness centre.

Without hesitation, when we revisit Bali, the Legian Hotel will have our custom.

This place is an all time favourite in Seminyak. It’s very well maintained throughout. We arrived early and our suite was ready and looked spectacular, as always. They closed off one side of the property for maintenance and kept the other side and public areas fully operational, so that no one was disturbed at all by any of the ongoing work.
The breakfast is a mix of smaller buffet stations plus a very extensive menu that could easily get you through the entire day. All staff at the property is the most professional, sincerely friendly and display so much pride working there.
During rainy season the ocean on the Seminyak side is known to throw back stuff onto the beach, which was even more through some stormy days. The Legian had about 5 or 6 people continuously on their long stretch of beach front, to keep it immaculately clean during those days and made their property really stand out against their neighbors.
On our day of departure, all rooms in operation were booked, so that we handed back our room keys after breakfast. With an early evening flight departure, we were using their pool and facilities throughout the day and were offered an hour in a hospitality lounge to shower, get changed and have a drink under the AC before heading back home. This made it a very comfortable late afternoon departure that made any late check out completely unnecessary.
I always find it annoying, especially in a place where the staff makes sure there’s enough loungers and umbrellas for everyone, there’s still people that can’t seem to refrain from space hogging. Here there were inconsiderate couples that reserved for example the only operational Bale with 360 shade as early as 9am during breakfast with a shirt and some hotel slippers, yet didn’t care to return to it until lunch or just removed their stuff again after some hours when they changed their mind without even using for a second. In all that time someone else could have had the pleasure using it (for a change), but apparently exactly this prime space was extremely important to them. The Legian should maybe better instruct their teams to support guests that are leaving belongings behind for a longer time, to remove and store them on their behalf for safekeeping.
Seminyak is a very popular and busy stretch of beach, with plenty of excellent restaurants nearby. Within that hustle and bustle The Legian really stands out by offering a place of incredible serenity at an extensive space facing a long stretch of beachfront.

There are many other places to stay in Seminyak, but I chose The Legian for its peaceful, quiet location and ambiance. It's within a ten-minute walk of Seminyak Square and Village, yet when you return, you'll feel relaxed, and enjoy sunset beach views. Also, the government has just added a new beach walkway so that people can easily walk between the hotels while enjoying the splendid views and beach breezes.

When I was there, the sea was too rough for swimming, but I still enjoyed the views from my wide beach bed or loungers on the grass with shade.
As a health-conscious eater, I was delighted by the diverse culinary options at The Legian. For breakfast, I savored Indonesian veggies with tofu, fruits, and coconut yogurt, while for lunch, an in-room dining order of a tasty gazpacho with quinoa satiated my belly.

The drive from/to the airport can be long, approximately 45 minutes. The traffic was the unfavorable part. Aside from that, you're in an excellent location for shopping and dining.

The suites are also comfortable, traditional, and contemporary. This hotel is likely your parent's favorite place to stay, not the teenagers or college kids who want to party. If that sounds appealing, you'll likely love The Legian.

If you are looking for somewhere to relax , unwind and indulge yourself then this hotel is the place to stay. Everything about this hotel is fabulous !
We stayed in an ocean view studio apartment overlooking the tropical gardens and three infinity pools. The beautifully appointed rooms come with everything you could possibly need on your holiday and are serviced twice a day by the friendly staff. We enjoyed our daily breakfast and complimentary afternoon teas by the pool watching the sunset and dined at night whilst being entertained by the sounds of a local jazz band.
You can join an exercise class of your choice or visit the wellness room for a much needed sauna, steam room and the hot/cold plunge pools all included in your tariff.
The hotel is managed by fabulous staff who went out of their way to ensure that your stay was perfect in every way. My husband and I are already planning our next visit soon !
