From the time I arrived and I received a warm greeting, until I left, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was superb and room was really comfortable, air con was excellent as it had been over 35°C that day. If your looking for a place in Swellendam, I suggest Braeside would be a good choice.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our month long-tour of the Western Cape. Overall, we enjoyed this guest house the best of all those we stayed in. Whilst the accommodation was perhaps not as modern as some other places, this is the result of maintaining many of the original features of the property. Fantastic choice at breakfast with hot...

We really enjoyed our stay. Although we were the only guests that night, we got a gorgeous breakfast next morning. For dinner we got a really good recommendation for a restaurant in walking distance!!

We spent a great night at Braeside, everything was perfect accept that we didn't have time to spend in Swellendam but it's a little town. The house is beautiful and Fiona is a great host that made us feel very welcome. And the breakfast is lovely.

This house is from 1901 with still many of the original features. The rooms are big and well equipped . The bathroom though had a mold smell. The swimming pool is tiny, but nice on a hot day. The breakfast was outstanding with lots of fresh fruit and very personal attention. There is a big garden beautifully kept lawn with...

Welcoming drinks, fantastic breakfast and a plunge pool to escape the heat, it was 38C during our stay We were sad to learn however that Fiona had decided to call it a day and retire next month, we trust that the new owner will...

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful place for 2 nights. We thought we had a kingsizebed but this was not the case. Booking.com, guaranteed us a kingsize bed however and therefore we booked this, but Fiona, the very friendly and accomodating owner didn't had them. ( also in all the other rooms ) She was upset, Booking.com gave...

Thanks a lot to Fiona having again a great stay at her beautiful house surrounded by the awesome garden and the great landscape. We enjoyed the great breakfast at the terrace and hope to see you next time again! When staying in Swellendam one should use the opportunity eating out at La Sosta...best Italian cuisine outside Italy!

“We had the smallest safari room and to be quite frank, it was really nice and more than adequate. Nothing lacking in it at all. It had a double bed and of course, if you want a bigger bed, you wouldn't book this room, but for us it was great.”
