I came here with my son on the way for a fishing trip. Booked without too much thought and it seemed fine on the review section. It is actually much nicer than expected with a lovely garden and great bfast. Room was spotless. Happy to recommend fully and good value

We stayed at the lodge for two nights during a Lawson's Safari trip to the Western Cape. You never know what to expect when you approach a property for the night, unless it's a chain hotel. This is most certainly not a chain, in fact it looks as though they've just built it. Upon asking its history, we found that... More

While returning from Oudtshoorn we stayed two days in Swellendam. We were warmly welcomed and direct support was given for restaurant reservation, the daily program and all necessities we might have. Breakfast was great, lots of fruits and warm breakfast options as well. Location is located on the far side of the Main Street, but restaurant options are close for... More

Good location on edge of town. Room was comfortable with everything we needed. Heater in room was switched on prior to our arrival so was very cosy. Breakfast was super and the hosts were very friendly. Theres a convenient restaurant directly across the road too

Stayed at this excellent lodge on route to Cape Town. Wonderful warm welcome. Bettie was extremely helpful and went that "extra mile" to ensure I had everything for my stay. The accommodation is outstanding. Beautifully styled and immaculate. Breakfast was delicious. Would love to stay again.

My wife and I recently returned from a 3 week trip to Southern Africa. Part of the journey was the Garden Route (spectacular). Trying to get close to Cape Town by the following day, we did one particularly long drive (Storms River to within proximity to CT). My wife searched Trip Advisor for places on the road ahead. Swellendam Country... More

spent 2 nights there. Very clean and comfortable. However the wardrobe is very small to unpack 2 peoples suit cases. It houses a small fridge and on the shelf some red win, candles and a few other things. Breakfast on both days marvelous. They make their own fig jam and preserved figs, really tasty. Close to Marloth nature reserve where... More

My daughter and I stumbled upon this lodge totally by accident. What a find! Our stay was superb! Our room was small but VERY well designed and equipped. We arrived late in the evening after a long drive and were greeted at the door by the owner in the middle of a howling wind storm. We had a good dinner... More
