We enjoyed our one night stay but felt that our room was just too close to the verandah and we were constantly aware of the people sitting out there. A small group of overseas visitors dominated the space and pool. However James gave us a good welcome, the evening meal was tasty and well presented and a generous breakfast was...

We paid yet another visit to this gracious guesthouse in the Breede Valley to sample again the wonderful scenery and local produce, and blend our own bottle at their tasting lodge, Kirstin is a great hostess and a wonderful chef, so there is no need to leave Excelsior to find first class fare. The rooms are spacious and well appointed,...

Very friendly, attentive owner and staff especially James who looked after us so well. Great location, meals and wines were excellent. A fabulous home from home overseen by Kirsten for whom nothing was any trouble. Her husband even made gluten free bread for my wife. We would love to stay again. Sam

The dinner-service was excellent, but otherwise this place did not live up to expectations set from reading other reviews. Lovely pool area, but only 12 reclining chairs for 18 guests - so we couldn't enjoy that. Air conditioning in the bedroom ineffective. Footboard on the bed made it difficult to stretch out. Nobody seemed to be managing the breakfast service;...

We stayed here for two nights and could easily have stopped longer. A lovely wine estate with colonial style accommodation in attractive setting. We had the Dinner, bed and breakfast option and did not regret this. Food was really nice supervised by Kirstin and the estate wines are just as good! We took bicycles out on one day exploring the...

A fantastic old house with great staff and service. The guest house is quiet and comfortable, the food was out of this world and the wine was complementary. With the whole estate to walk around, or the pool to relax in I cannot speak highly enough about Excelsior Manor Guesthouse

Came there for one night. Place is so neat and beautifully decorated. I suggest you have a look at their pictures on the wall as each one tells a different story about this place from a different time. The staff is extremely nice and let us checkout even an hour later and did not charge us for the soft drinks....

Excelsior Manor Guesthouse, in the heart of the Robertson Wine Valley, is a Cape Revival manor built during the ostrich feather boom of the early 1900s. Having been recently lovingly restored to its former glory, it offers quiet luxury and personal hospitality. Set in a mature and graceful garden, with shady trees and fragrant roses, the Manor has nine homely bedrooms, with ensuite bathrooms, and exudes old world charm. Generous home cooked country breakfasts and delicious three course dinners are served in the traditional dining room or on the raised deck overlooking the swimming pool with a view over the vineyards to the Langeberg mountains. Excelsior is a working wine farm which has been in the de Wet family for 5 generations since 1859. Guests are invited to explore the 250 hectare farm either on foot or in the golf cart provided. There is a tasting centre, set on the picturesque dam, where guests are invited to try the range of Excelsior Wines and to blend their 'own creation'. Each of the nine unique luxury bedrooms at Excelsior Manor Guesthouse has a history linked to a famous thoroughbred or hackney horse that was previously bred on Excelsior Estate.
