Great location: Very quiet. Nice pool. We had a suite that was clean and comfortable. Very nice and personal, accommodating service. Good breakfast. Good location: 5min drive to the main street with all restaurants and shops. Close to good wineries and just 15min to Stellenbosch.

Our stay at Val D'or couldn't have been better. With two grandchildren in tow, we opted for the largest unit, which came fully equipped qith kitchen, and ample space. But, it was beautifully and tastefully furnished, giving the feeling that we were truly in a Franschoek home environment. The breakfast was sumptuous and excellent, the staff was most attentive, and...

I recently stayed at the Val d'Or during a tour of the wine region. The guest house is set in beautiful grounds with magnificent views across the valley to the mountains. The guest house is just a couple of miles from Franschhoek We stayed in one of the upstairs bedrooms with a balcony to capture the beautiful scenery. Our bedroom...

On the last leg of our trip to South Africa we arrived at 8pm to our destination but still received a warm smile from the male receptionist. Once daylight we were able to see the beautiful well kept gardens that we enjoyed whilst sitting around the pool. Nice stop to finish with and brilliant location just outside Franschhoek.

A lovely place to stay, our only concern was that we checked in at 19:00 and out the following morning before 11:00. Room was good staff very friendly and helpful. Can only imagine how wonderful it must be staying there out of the drought period. The shower fitting in the bathroom requires a little attention. Before arriving I had called...

Stayed here for 4 nights during our recent trip to Cape Town. Really lovely site, well tended gardens. Pool area in the gardens is very pretty, although sun umbrellas on day we were there were a little rocky. Breakfast was very good, and staff very friendly. We had a room on the ground floor which was very clean. It had...

We stayed for 4 nights in one of the rooms above the main reception. The room and bathroom were large but both showed signs of neglect with water leaking into the sink cabinet that was slowly destroying it and the same problem in the wardrobe by the fridge. The grounds were lovely which compensated for the setting approx 5 kms...
