We just got home in England but reflect on our wonderful three night stay at La Providence. Our luxury room had a small private pool which we shared with next door but was paradise . The breakfasts were the best ever we have had after many years of travelling on cruises and hotels. The is just nowhere as wonderfully friendly...

La Providence is a little piece of paradise in the Franschhoek Valley . As the gates open at the bottom of the drive way you know you have made an excellent choice . The grounds with it's own fountain , duck pond , vineyard , fire pit and infinity pool are immaculately kept , with beautiful views of the valley...

Situated a 10 minute walk outside the main street in Franschhoek, surrounded by the owners vineyard, this is a lovely retreat to stay at. Rooms and bathrooms are huge and in various converted buildings around the main manor house. We had a large terrace, perfect for relaxing on before dinner in town. The focus is the bar, breakfast room and...

We've stayed at a number of places in Franschhoek in the past and La Providence was by the far the best. The landscape is immaculate - stunning gardens and a big pond surround the guesthouses. The pool is gorgeous: big enough for a swim and gorgeous views onto the winelands. The rooms are brand new and built to a very...

We cannot say enough good things about La Providence. It was the standout accommodation of our SA honeymoon trip so far. Gary and Ellen are extremely friendly and welcoming and obviously have a real passion for what they are doing. The rooms are really tastefully decorated and very private. The gardens are immaculate and full of gorgeous flowers. The views...

One of the prettiest places on earth. Perfectly-maintained lodging, pool, and vineyard. Gated access. A view to die for. Wine taste using the wine train or taste on your own in the Franschhoek Valley. Breakfast doesn't get any better. One of our all-time favorite places, after staying in hundreds of B and Bs in dozens of countries. After only 3...

Very beautiful lanscaping and traditional architecture. Pool area has stunning view to the mountains. Rooms exceptionally clean and ours is big with a huge bathroom. Feels like the owners/management really didn't cut corners when renovating this place recently. Service friendly and efficient, not overbearing. Quick walk/drive into main street of Franschhoek.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated behind the historical Huguenot Monument and Museum, and within 5 minute walking distance from the town center. Laying beneath the impressive Middagkrans Mountains, and a short drive up the Franschhoek pass to one of the most surreal views of the town and valley, is La Providence Farm/Guesthouse! Set amongst a picturesque garden of roses and other indigenous plant, a hectare of vineyards and a Cypress avenue, as you enter the farm. The farm consists of 7 guestrooms, with a very modern and sophisticated interior. The old farm house buildings gives you a sense of time gone by. Each room has its own Nescafe coffee machine, a mini fridge where one can sit on your terrace and enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon as the sunsets!! There is an entertainment area for our guests, a short walk from the rooms where one can enjoy a swim in our 12m pool, or laze about on a sunbed and admire the view of the mountains or vineyard. There is a bar with a wooden deck leading out to the pool, or in the evening sit in boma around a fire and enjoy the Milk way with a glass of 'Lewenslust' our local house wine. ... more   less
