We enjoyed our stay very much. Very nice equiped rooms in a magic surrounding. First Class service and excellent breakfast. We would come back for 100 %. Slept very well in the bed. Nothing to complain about. Good price-quality-relationship. The Guesthouse is a good starting point not only to the wine estates, but also to Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Constantia, Wellington...

Notwithstanding the very high quality breakfasts served, start-up of breakfast at 08:00 could be sharper. The room was very good and the products provided were good, however, replenishment of refreshment items (milk, coffee, tea, etc) had to be requested from time to time - room staff need to be a little more observant and proactive, rather than reactive.

Have to dig deep to find a complaint- just about says it all! Very friendly, very well appointed and made to feel very much at home. Would not hesitate to go back the next time we are in the vicinity of Franschoek.

Fantastic hotel - perfect rooms and wonderful personell. The owner arranged dinners in the evening which were great. This way we got to know the other guests and the quality of food was good. Breakfasts also superb. The only disadvantage is some disturbance from the nearby road during daytine but no problems during nights.

Fransvliet is a lovely little oasis situated in a vineyard about an hour outside of Cape Town. It is a short jaunt to the Stellenbosch wineries and is very close wineries located in town. The staff was warm, inviting, and professional when we arrived. The room was spacious and well-appointed with moderns finishes and updated bedding. Each room has a...

My sister and I recently spent 2 days at this beautiful Guest House. We received a very warm welcome from Victor who showed us to our lovely room, Cabernet. We happened to arrive on Valentines Day and were told that dinner was being served. This does not happen every night but we were very happy that we could dine here...

Great place for a few days in Fransschhoek, spacious rooms lovely setting and great breakfast. The locations is just 5 minutes from the town centre and great for the surrounding area. As this was our last stop in SA, Cape Town airport is only the maximum of an hour away.

Nestled among a few acres of vines is this gem of a boutique B&B run very efficiently by Shirley and Joe. Very attentive service from all staff from the word go. Our room was very comfortable with massive double bed, state of the art bathroom and many extras that you don't get in most B&B's. Exquisite breakfast (and woe betide...

We've stayed at this guesthouse in the "shiraz" suite, which was very specious and clean,..., everything was available with even your one nespresso coffeemaker. The guesthouse is perfectly situated for visiting the franschoek winerys and restaurants.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fransvliet Guest House is a tranquil, luxury retreat, only 4 kilometres from the heart of Franschhoek. It is situated on a working farm, growing grapes, olives and figs. Wake up to the call of the birds and in the evening perhaps hear the resident owls calling as they contemplate the night's hunt. Breathtaking mountain views are all around, each one more spectacular than the last. The individually decorated suites are pure luxury, with absolute attention to detail. Soft wineland colours set the tone for a perfect stay. Breakfast is an occasion, every day. Spend time in the newly renovated 65 year old house, either inside or on the veranda, enjoying the view of the pool and the vineyards. Celebrate "the best meal of the day" with either a Continental or a full breakfast that will include seasonal specials. The sparkling pool is at your disposal for those hot lazy afternoons. Relax in the shade with a magazine and an ice cold drink, before you cool off. Lazy winter days are a treat too. Snuggle up in your suite in a comfy armchair with your own personal fireplace - the perfect way to enjoy one of the local bottles of red wine. Meander through the garden, (both indigenous and other) on your way to your suite. Something special will be flowering at all times. In season, luscious figs will be found on the trees, and the scent of lemons may be in the air too. Take an early morning walk around the farm in December. The vines will be green and laden with fruit. In July, a few burgundy coloured leaves and bare sticks have their own attraction. Soak up the 360° view, especially the powerful Simonsberg mountains. ... more   less
