We Loved our stay here. Pure peace and quiet. Amazing Wine Perfect. Not too far from Franschhoek town but you do need a car. The owner Joy is lovely and our daughter loved the dog Boo. I strongly recommend staying here. We can't wait to return

Joy and her family has been so hospitable to us! We were probably the first Singaporeans to have stayed at the cottage and I must say it's superb! Highly recommend this place to stay. Comes with free wine tasting - the white Sauvignon and dessert wines are very good top. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

We stayed for a night in Cottage 5 which is the family cottage at the top of the hill. Two very comfy rooms (kingsize and twin) both with very nice ensuite bathrooms. Small kitchen and big lounge in the middle, with a big fireplace. There is no TV. Play charades, read, or have a conversation! :) You can walk up...

Beautiful and tranquil location hidden away from the main town of Franschhoek. The owner of the farm is wonderful, the cottage is so comfortable and the wine,, speechless!! I am just really really proud of myself for finding such an awesome place.

We stayed just one night but keen to get back for a longer stay as the surroundings are just what you need for a relaxing getaway. It was just the 2 of us but next time we will try it with kids. Wish we had arrived in time for wine tasting and to spend more time taking it in. We ate...

We arrived "out of hours" but as promised in the email before hand the key was waiting for us in a designated safe. The cottages are simple yet comfortable, with a wood burner, nice powerful shower, plenty of hot water and kitchen equipment. We had a BBQ on the balcony which had been cleaned in the morning before we got...

We've escaped for a family weekend and our time at Stony Brook was excellent. The hosts are very friendly. The cottages are well equipped and very clean. The surroundings are absolutely magnificent. Check in, check out was seamless. A big bonus is a big fluffy, Husky that was a real hit with my son.

5 cottages situated behind the wine estate, just below the mountains, along a little stream, in a very quiet area - just the place to unwind. We stayed in number 3 - the middle cottage, and it has all you need - a simple kitchen with basics to cater for yourself (but why bother, given the good restaurants 10 minutes...

We stayed overnight at Stony Brook as I was looking for a calm and serene place to spend the night with my husband to celebrate my 40th birthday with my husband, while taking in the culinary delights (The Tasting Room!) that Franschoek offers. From the lovely drive on the tree-lined road, passing the beautiful Arabian horses, to the rustic little...

We had a wonderful stay at Stony brook and I would highly recommend it to anyone passing by Franschhoek. Joy is the sweetest of hosts! The setting is just magnificent with the backdrop of the mountains! Make sure to do a wine tasting of their superb white and red wines!

“There are only 6 cottages and all the rooms are beautiful. There is a bigger one that 2 couples can share both with en suites...............that is where we stayed and that was divine and also closer to the pool,”

“All cottages much the same as far as view/location goes - ask for the big cottage at the top, for a family.”

“Number 3 was great - a small parking area right next to the cottage, and a huge double bed (one of the cottages only has two singles, so ask before booking!), but in general they are all pretty much equally good. Do note: Franschhoek can get very hot in summer, and while a fan was provided, there is no aircon - so if you get hot, this might not be the place for you. All other seasons should be ok, as the temperature drops overnight most nights.”
