This beautiful guesthouse is located close the centre of Franschhoek, at 15 minutes walking distance. Rooms are nice and clean. Good bed. Nice breakfast with fresh fruit salad, tea, good coffee (Nespresso)! Just a pity there was no freshly squeezed juice...in a country with so many fruits! Good value for money.

We travel to Franschhoek once or twice a year and usually mix it up staying at places we know and places we don't. Having seen the good reviews for Maison d'Ail we decided to give it a try for two nights. Being spoiled for choice in this beautiful area it didn't quite make the high marks for us. Starting with...

We stayed here at the start of March for 2 nights and it was absolutely gorgeous. The house is family owned and the family and house history is all contained in the hotel information folder in your room, which is a nice touch. The house itself is stylish, immaculate, light and airy. Our room (room 5) was beautifully decorated, had...

We stayed for 3 nights. The location is at the top of a road leading off the main street. We did run it one day but if you walked it would take at least 15 minutes. The guesthouse has a small central pool with sun loungers, great for relaxing after wine tasting! The room was clean and spacious with a...

Maison d'Ail is a true gem. The place is charming, clean, modern, and well decorated. The rooms were very comfortable with very nice bathrooms. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Great breakfast in the morning! Franschhoek is a wonderful place to be and Maison d'ail a great place to stay. Would definitely stay there again when visiting the Winelands....

This is a beautiful cool peaceful house. It has a lovely terrace on which to have breakfast or simply enjoy a glass of the local wine. The pool is quiet & refreshing, the rooms spacious clean & well decorated. The "honesty bar" was especially well stocked. Staff were friendly & helpful. I wish we had been staying for longer.

Enjoyed the standard room. Staff were great and the owner very warm and helpful. It was close enough to the centre of town to get there quickly but far enough to not be caught up in the busyness. It had a lovely garden in which to have breakfast.

We stopped for two nights at Maison D'Ail, arrived early but was met by Clive who was extremely helpful, nothing was too much bother, and he showed us to our room. Good size, clean, comfortable and his lounge areas were superb. He discovered that we hadn't booked a restaurant for the evening so he rung around and managed to get...
