First of all: Franshoek is much more interesting than the better known locations in the Weinlands like Stellenbosch. This was one of our most beautiful accommodations during our SA trip. Romantic room in victorianian style and in the courtyard a breath-taking panorama view. Breakfast was very good (a la carte) and the location close to the restaurants in the center.

Another warm welcome from everyone at Basse Provence. This time we shared the 2 bedroom Cottage with a friend. We couldn't have been more comfortable and enjoyed the space and facilities there. We did peep into our old room, Gideon near the pool and that brought back more happy memories. Breakfast was excellent and Cassie and her team, especially Janine,...

We were a large group with local and overseas visitors - Cassie and her team of amazing ladies went out of their way to make our week's stay a memorable one. Our group was split over the Manor House (wow, the honeymoon suite is just stunning!!!!), the cottage and the lodge. The breakfasts were lovely and a great way to...

We were met with a half hearted reception given a key and pointed in the direction of the bedroom in the other building, we were meet there and given a brief explanation, the lights for the shower and toilet were hidden behind a wardrobe these were not shown to us nor how to turn off the bedside lights. Complaining the...

Close to town, very convenient. The Manor House was built in 1870. Beautiful comfortable room with adjoining bathroom featuring a stand alone bath with window in the roof for a starry night view. The room is clean, beds are very comfortable and there is a small sitting room outside the rooms to relax. the food is served in the dining...

The house is set in a relaxing setting and has great staff and security. We were totally relaxed there and being only 5 minutes from Franschhoek itself is the ideal solution. The house itself is a beautifully kept example of the colonial past and transports you back there. Quiet and beautiful, we will be going back.

We required accommodation for a wedding taking place near Franschhoek. Booking and provision of information was efficient and friendly. The country house was charming and very comfortable. Our room was in the main house and there was a pleasant homely atmosphere, while it was very quiet and private. The view from the room was lovely and the service and food...

Lovely little farmhouse in a beautiful setting. Service was very warm and hospitable, and the room was well sized and furnished to a high standard (we were in one of the upstairs rooms). Breakfast was lovely although a little mean (greater portion size may have been good). Be careful you don’t miss the turning on the way into town. In...

Basse Provence completely exceeded our expectations. We stayed in Jacob suite in the cottage next to the manor house, which was cozy and romantic. The room was massive and had a free standing bath, and large shower. We had use of a stunning, sparking swimming pool just outside our room, and we can't wait to go back!!! 5 star rating!...

Arrived and our booking was missing. But was quickly given a different room. Good points: rooms were large, beautiful location, nice breakfast Not so good points: bathrooms had a distinct cheesy smell I have a feeling they just needed better airing, towels were not replaced (even those on the floor) Also the hotel is not in the centre of town...

Good day thank you for taking your time to review Basse Provence. The roof thatch has recently been repaired with some new thatch. This does give off a grassy smell which some people love and some people don't. Franschhoek offers private taxi's which is convenient but can become expensive. It is advisable to be travelling this area with a car...
