Amazing experience surrounded by some of the most majestic mountains in the world. Lucky enough to see snow on the mountains. Accommodation we stayed in was basic and slightly weathered - but neat and clean, didn't need more. The breakfast included in the rate was really good, a nice surprise!

This is beautiful part of the country and the scenery is spectacular. There are loads of walks and hiking trails. You can choose between self catering or eat at the restaurant. It also offers a bird hide that offers some amazing photo opportunities. You have to book the use of the hide before you go. You will also require a...

We drove here from near Winterton - it is a quite a long drive and some of the roads are unmade, although in good condition in dry weather. At the visitor centre you can pay a small fee as a day visitor and buy a map of day hikes in the park. We did the Berg View walk (7km and...

The chalets are comfortable and clean. The views are amazing..! We had a secluded chalet, with a breathtaking view of the valley and Giant's Castle. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is hearty. We enjoyed our stay so mich, we added an extra night!

As a family with a 5-year old child, we had to take a 4 bed mountain view chalet. The whole setup of the camp and the terrace are really cool and we loved to have a braii in the evening. Thank God I read the Tripadvisor reviews before and had made a note that it is essential to buy groceries...

My compliments to the Natal Parks Board for an outstanding venue. The quality of the superb accommodation was unequalled during our recent four-week tour round South Africa. There was absolutely nothing we found lacking or sub-standard - perfection right down to the little touches. Due to its location the park has many natural advantages and the scenic beauty is legendary...

Tucked into the folds of the mountain this is a great camp. The units are brilliantly designed to maximize the mountain views and privacy from other units. Very comfortably furnished and fantastic to have a fireplace in the unit, not to mention a complementary bale of wood and coal. The walks from this camp are spectacular.

We stayed at Giants Castle Camp over the “Christmas in July” weekend and although we missed the Saturday afternoon festivities the thick blanket of snow that fell on our last night made up for any loss and really gave us a White Christmas. From making the reservation to the help we received from the staff when we were snowed in...

Wow this was by far my best hotel stay. Great room with a fantastic view. Wood fired heating and comfortable bed in a world heritage area. A must stay, for some of south Africa’s best cave paintings. Beware of the drive in as at the time of this review the road was terrible, but don’t let that put you off,...

The views of the Drakensberg are amazing. The camp is clean and has a good restaurant, with friendly, helpful staff. Special thanks to Joshua who pitched up pretty fast when, after stupidly leaving my chalet door slightly open, I had a 'baboon incident'! Also to Thandeka, the guide at the Main Caves who showed and explained the San rock art...
