Took our money then acted like he didn't know we were there for prom weekend. The place was filthy, no upgrades done since the 1960's. I would not recommend these deceitful people to anyone. It is an absolute dump and should be closed down. They use paper and scotch tape to number the rooms.

This was our 2nd summer there (see my first review of this place: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g46931-d1877511-r169171155-El_Ray_Motel-Wildwood_Cape_May_County_New_Jersey.html ) Anyway, it was like returning home! The owner was very nice and remembered us (or at least pretended to). The room was less furnished than last time we stayed there (no armoire (sp?)/dresser/entertainment unit) and therefore we didn't have much room for our clothing. We... More

So, wanting to save a few bucks, we picked this place for our stay in Aug 2015. Yes, it's not much but than again, we weren't paying a lot for the stay either. The room was small, but adequate. The bathroom was small but updated and clean. Not much room for your things but it was OK. A little tight... More

When I booked a room I booked it because they had a queen size bed available, when we got into the room it was actually two double beds but that was just the beginning. The room itself was filthy, food on the floor, cigarette stubs on the floor (non-smoking was advertised), the tile floor itself was dirty and appeared uncleaned,... More

we came down for the firemens convention, the room we had was perfect for our family, we had a balony on the strip where my grandson could watch the firetrucks, the walkways are a little tight, and we had to walk up to the 3rd floor with a 2 year old and a 2 month old as thats where their... More

Is this the greatest room ever, no. But it was worth the price we paid. If youre only using the room to sleep, it's just a block away from the beginning of the boardwalk and right onto the beach. The Internet is dreadful, but we really weren't in the room all that long other than to sleep. The room we... More

We have just spent our 8th summer vacation at the Elray and we are extremely happy here, we come back every year. You cannot beat this place for what you get for the price!! I'm 53 and grew up coming to Wildwood every year. My parents and I would stay at the Rio which is no longer there, I have... More

My boyfriend and I were looking for a decent place to stay for a weekend trip to Wildwood. While pricey for the level of accomodation, the El Ray Motel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room is VERY small and there is an issue with humidity (the floors were slippery the entire time even though... More

We stay at the El Ray for a week while our daughter dances at the Convention Center. The proximity to the boardwalk is optimum, the rooms clean and well kept, but most of all the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Hanna do all they can to ensure that our stay is top notch. They are so friendly, welcoming, and attend to... More
