Have stayed in 3 different rooms. Each room is adorable and has its particular charm. Usually visit the following attractions for visit - Four Sisters Winery, the Bell Mansion w/outdoor seating (lunch or dinner) and our Saturday night at The Stanhope House for music or other event. Except for winery, each is a short, quiet walk. Other guest are always...

I was looking for a cute, romantic place to spend the evening with my wife on our wedding night. I was looking for something that would make the night special and this place seemed to have good reviews. After staying there, I am so glad I decided to choose the Whistling Swan Inn. The staff is incredibly friendly, the breakfast...

We wanted to celebrate our 16th anniversary, but couldn't go too far from home. We're from New York, so NJ was a good idea. In all the years we have traveled through NJ to PA, we never knew of the sleepy town of Stanhope, other than from a sign on I-80. But in our search we came across the Whistling...

My husband and I stayed here for a mini babymoon getaway. The hosts are very nice and the B&B is just beautiful. We chose the Walnut Valley Suite room that had 2 bathrooms, a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub; it was wonderful! The B&B also has a downstairs sitting area, free sherry, cookies and snacks. Our breakfast in the morning...

My husband and I visited this Inn last April 2016 and stayed in the Walnut Valley suite. We absolutely loved this room, the owner Roz is friendly and amazingly accomadating. We truly did not want to leave. We returned this April and stayed in the High Point Suite another wonderful room, very peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast is so very delicious...

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any room for improvements. We were greeted warmly by one of the owners upon check-in. Our room was fantastic (Walnut Valley Suite). The bed and pillows were comfortable. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi. The gas fireplace worked and was needed for a short while, as it was a cold evening. It...

When one thinks of quiet, cozy, charming bed & breakfasts, Stanhope NJ is not a location that pops into mind. However, that is exactly what you are getting here. In an old Victorian mansion with a warm feel and delicious breakfast, you can relax in comfort. There is not much to do within the town itself but you are close...

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at the inn. It's a grand old house, and I think the 100- year old plaster walls contribute to the noise reduction. You're right though - the creaking stairs would make it hard for anyone to sneak in or out of the house. We look forward to seeing you again. Best regards, Ros

I wanted somewhere where I could relax and kick back. The hotel is definitely charming. We booked the Walnut Valley Suite, which had his and her bathrooms with a jacuzzi tub! the actual room was very pretty and comfortable. My major complaint was that I think we were above the private kitchen and also below another suite. So I was...

Thank you for your kind review. I appreciate your feedback about the noise from the kitchen. I'll definitely explore ways to minimize that. The koi are out now, and all of them survived the winter. Best regards, Ros

I was in Stanhope for a concert at the historic Stanhope House and wanted to stay overnight. I remembered going for a walk in the neighborhood last time I was in town for a show and seeing the Whistling Swan Inn, (it's only a 4 minute walk from the venue) so my husband and I decided to give it a...

We just love this place and will keep coming back! The staff is friendly, helpful and makes sure you have what you need but stays out of the way. The food is the best! We love coming here in the winter, quite but there is always places open.
