Welcome to the Spring Lake Inn, where European-style hospitality, history and contemporary amenities blend together for an unforgettable vacation experience. We’ve been told that our inn is unpretentious, yet elegant, inviting, yet private for those guests who need time and space to unwind. Built in 1888 as the Grand Central Stables of Spring Lake NJ, the inn is only a block from the ocean and the 2-mile boardwalk. We serve sumptuous breakfasts at your own table in the grand dining room as well as afternoon snack. Our 80 ft. Victorian porch is irresistible. Each of the 17 spacious guestrooms and suites offer all or a combination of the following luxury features: fireplace, ocean view, Jacuzzi, 4-poster bed, sleigh bed, refrigerator and digital cable TV. Fine dining, boutique shopping and spa pampering are only blocks away. Spring Lake New Jersey is one of America’s most genteel seashore towns where time can stand still at our “European Mansion by the Sea.”

The hotel is very welcoming and comfortable. I loved my room and the ambiance of the entire hotel - including the front porch - even though we couldn't use it because it was too cold. The porch invites you in - and I loved being so close to the ocean and beautiful Spring Lake boardwalk. This is a great place to stay!

The owner is personable with a sincere interest in your enjoyable stay! We found Spring Lake and the wonderful boardwalk to be very relaxing, enjoyed parking at the boardwalk an listening to the ocean waves, watching the birds and people! Delicious breakfasts, especially the in house banana bread! We will return.

We booked 14 rooms for my daughter’s wedding weekend, for bridesmaids and family. The Inn was a perfect choice. The rooms were not only quaint but updated and comfortable. The Innkeepers suite was a perfect spot for the bride’s and bridesmaids’ preparations. Andy and his crew could not have been more accommodating. Will return for a relaxing weekend asap!

The inn is conveniently located near everywhere I needed to be so it was perfect for me. The porch is large and relaxing. The drink fridge was a nice touch. Also, there is an extra room to visit with friends and family off of the dining room which is helpful.

It was the first time we had stayed and the Spring Lake Inn and stayed two nights. We met Andy as soon as we arrived and he was very helpful and kind. The inn was very clean as was our room which we really enjoyed! The staff was also very friendly. We plan to go back to this place next year for our anniversary!! If you enjoy a peaceful and quiet place to go and one block walk to ocean this is the place to go. Thanks Andy and Barbara, The Browns

A long over due respite at SLI. We’ve frequented Spring Lake over the years staying at various locations. Our preferred stay is at SLI. Since last we visited, a few changes have occurred including shiplap in the dining room that brightens it up and a remodeled bathroom in the Corner Room with a nice shower. Great stay. Hoping to return soon.

We have been going to the Spring Lake Inn for 19 years now. It is an awesome and charming inn a block from the ocean. Just perfect for a few days, even a week, at the shore. No scene, no fuss, quiet and refreshing. The innkeeper and staff are super friendly and refined. Rooms are spotless. Spring Lake is otherwise a hidden gem. And they want to keep it that way so please do not broadcast about it. The park and town are just beautiful. The Parker House in Sea Girt is also easily walkable. Even after all these years, I just marvel at the Spring Lake residential architecture. And the beach is something else, absolutely pristine. The quiet (and ridiculously safe and secure)(kids do not even lock their bikes in town) boardwalk provides a great evening walk and amazing night air that must conclude at the local ice cream shop just around the corner from the inn. Lights out by 10 PM. We just booked another weekend! :)

The nicest part of going to work where there are always great people is the joy it brings to your life. "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life". Always fantastic to see our guests who return to enjoy all the Jersey shore has to offer. We are blessed to live at the shore and welcome everyone who appreciates its bounty. Cheers!

Great location for beach and walkable to some bars/restaurants if you like, friendly, welcoming, comfortable place to stay. Very clean. Still has that old Jersey shore beach house feel but updated with modern comforts, ac, ceiling fans, cable tv, etc. It’s not fancy, and I’m not sure what is meant when people say luxurious or European (?) but they seem to have what you need to make your stay comfortable, convenient, relaxing, and stress free. I also sense that if there is something you needed, the hosts would help. It makes for an easy getaway. I stayed in one of the smaller 3rd floor rooms and for just me the room was sufficient, but I think next time I will try for one of the larger rooms. The stair case up is small so if you have mobility issues, it could be a challenge. The AC in my room was quite noisy (used ear plugs), I wasn’t able to open any windows for fresh air so even when it got cooler I had no choice, and the sloping ceiling (due to roof) can get in the way as you move around. Room was comfortable to sleep in but not really a place you want to hang in. Porch is wonderful and there is plenty of communal space to enjoy. They don’t supply many toiletries other than the basics so be sure to pack what you need or buy when you are down. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Our guests often comment that this is the cleanest place that they have ever stayed in. We were pristine long before Covid. Window unit AC is never quiet but if you had informed us we could have swapped it out for a new one. Some 3rd floor rooms do have dormers. Our porch is always enjoyed and complimented. It has a warm vibe. We provide 2 types of soap - glycerin and wildflower, and 2 types of shampoo. Other items on request. Thanks for being one of the nice people who stay here. We appreciate your comments and look forward to seeing you here again.

My husband and I had a lovely weekend here. The staff was welcoming and friendly when we arrived early. We were given badges so we could spend the day on the beautiful beach (just a block and a half away), and invited to use the facilities to change. Beach chairs are also available. We stayed in the "Moonbeam" room and it was just as described. The towels and sheets were plush which is always a nice plus. It was a very hot weekend, but the air conditioner kept up nicely. Be sure to allow porch time - the rockers were comfortable and the other guests were very nice. My only suggestion is to make the coffee available by 6 am for the early risers.

Our morning coffee timer is set at 645. We gladly change it on request or some guests hit the brew button. The porch is definitely a highlight of our historic Inn. Thanks for noticing our 700 thread count Cotton sheets and towels. We pride ourselves in high quality items. Much appreciation for taking the time to write and for staying with us at our beloved Inn. See you next time.

We were beyond happy with our stay at The Spring Lake Inn. The Inn exudes the history and charm of its Victorian era roots, while also providing all the modern comforts and amenities you’d expect and being very well maintained. We had high expectations going in, and those expectations were exceeded by the friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable beds, cleanliness, and hospitality of Andy, the innkeeper. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, which consisted of mini quiches, fresh fruit, zucchini and lemon breads, croissants, bagels, and more. We would have loved an extra night, but they were completely sold out. We will be going back, for sure!
