This 1922 castle provides great lodging in a beautiful mountain environment. It is New Jersey's only castle hotel and being close to NYC it offers a wonderful escape. The building is gorgeous with comfortable and nicely-decorated rooms, The breakfast was modest and other accommodations limited.

I was VERY scared about staying here ... and not because it's kind of a creepy old castle at night ... but because of some of the other reviews I have read. I am pleased to say that I am glad that some of the other reviews didn't scare me off. This is an old English Tudor Manor style castle....

We stayed here for a wedding so it was fun to be staying at the reception hall with the other guests, but this is probably not a place I'd recommend staying if it wasn't for a wedding. They put on a FANTASTIC wedding though and for anyone reading this considering putting on a wedding here, you definitely should. The outside...

Me and my girl friend stayed here on a groupon for 3 nights. The property was very spooky when we arrived late afternoon and we were the only guest staying there that night. Of course we had to explore as soon as we dropped are lugged in our room. We stayed in the room above the front door with this...

The building and grounds are very pretty and the staff were all very warm and friendly. That being said the building is in need of some serious upkeep, and even with a Groupon taking our rack rate down from $240 a night to $150 a night, it was well overpriced. the rooms were in good shape for the age of...

If you're here for an event you'll think it's great by the cocktail reception. You can mingle outside on the grounds or throughout it's many dark and dreary castle like rooms. The food is not great. Once you enter the banquet room it's all downhill. The ceiling are low and it totally lacks class. The food is worse than bad....

Stayed one night because a family member had gotten married there. Nice rooms, but in need of updating. Windows and walls are not sound-proofed at all. We could hear the bridal party talking outside at 2AM, just as if they were in our room! If you're going to stay, ask for a room on the backside of the mansion

The castle is actually a 1924 Tudor mansion set atop of the botanical gardens in Ringwood New Jersey. Very cool setting out of a movie like dark shadows. Little spooky but wonderful stained glass, beautiful woodwork and great period Tudor architecture. You will feel like you are back in great gatsby era. The rooms have all original fixtures. It includes...

My 11 year old daughter and I had been traveling through the Northeast when we found a Groupon for The Castle at Skyland Manor... we loved the charm. Okay so we didn't have hot water (we didn't complain about it either, I'm sure had we said something someone would have fixed it in one way or another), the room was...

My wife and I stayed for one night as a stopover driving north. We found it well worth the detour off the interstate. We recently went on a "castle tour" in Ireland, and staying here is similar enough to our experience at Adare Manor and Ashford Castle (other than the fine dining at those properties). Stonework exterior, stained glass windows,...
