TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I booked a room 2 months ago and provided my credit card information vis phone and was under the impression that it was paid for all was good, etc (this is for my daughters 21st birthday). My daughter shows up and they tell her that she not only has to pay for the room, but that the hotel needs a physical card in order to pay for the room. I’m 3 hours away. THEY REFUSE TO LET ME PAY OVER THE PHONE - WHAT CENTURY IS THIS?
First, I have to say the staff here is lovely. A shoutout to Angela who brought us our room service and went above and beyond! Also, the woman at the front desk (I wish I got her name) was amazing and upgraded our room for free. It was our wedding weekend, and we wanted a place to stay nearby to the venue to get ready and for after the wedding, since we lived about an hour away in Queens. I got the cozy King I think it's called with a street view, since all the other rooms were so expensive, and I figured it's a nice hotel so the room would be nice. The room was okay, but for what we paid, it was insanely overpriced. I've paid half the amount of money for the same size room and amenities. I spoke with the woman at the front desk about this, and she upgraded our room to the partial river, which was much nicer. I still think the rooms are way overpriced (I don't care if it's a "W" chain, it's still too much). A couple other things - you have to PAY for wifi, which is insane to me given how much you're already paying. For room cleaning - I was getting ready for the wedding and had the do not disturb sign on my door until about 2 PM, and then took it off when I left. I'm not sure if it was because of this, but they never came to clean the room. So at the end fo the night, when my husband came to join me for the second night of our stay, the room hadn't been cleaned at all. We were both really surprised. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was great as well. But if it hadn't been for our wedding and the convenience, I never would have stayed here.…
I stood with my toddlers and husband over the memorial day weekend. I wanted to highlight the professionalism and communication with Alex from the Welcome Desk who was able to accommodate us in a very comfortable Double with beautiful views of the cities. Alex called me personally once the room became ready and truly enhanced our experience. Also Michael from the bellman stand, who was very nice and gave us recommendations for parking and restaurants, Would truly return to this property. Halifax and Bar and common grounds are beyond!!! Worth it and walking distance from main ave and restaurant staples and parks. Jportuhondo
We booked this last minute and so glad we did. It’s right on the Hudson, across from Manhattan, so the views of the city are incredible. Several cool parks, along the Hudson, are just outside the hotel as well as lots of bars and restaurants. The PATH station is just a few blocks away, so it was easy to get to NYC. Would definitely stay at this place the next time I’m in the area.
Stayed here many times over the years and still a favorite hotel and location. Could do with a post pandemic freshen up but I am sure this will happen and the vibe will pick up over the next few months. Very clean rom, good views as per usual and good service from the staff. We will be back when we next return to the area later in the summer.
