Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was in room 109. Everything was good. My family stayed in 108 and woke up with bumps throughout the stay. Carpet was old and dingy. The beds were soft. I'm glad this place is shutting down Saturday!

This is definitely not a hotel worthy of a 3 star rating. I stayed one night to attend a family event. Econo Lodge of Hammonton NJ is old, worn out, in badly need of cleaning and refurbishing. Wires were hanging out of one of the smoke detectors. Dead insects filled the glass bowl of the ceiling lighting fixtures. The furniture was scratched and worn. Upholstered chairs badly in need of cleaning and repair or replacement. The mattress must have been there for 20 years or more. Very uncomfortable. Flimsy locks on the doors that could easily be busted open and gave no sense of security. Mildewed tiles in the bathroom. Simply stated - I would not return here. And I recommend that you avoid it.

We were competing in an NHRA Regional at ATCO Dragstrip and towed into the area on a Wednesday. I was one of two crewmembers that needed evening accommodations for one night. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the track. It was clean, had a comfortable bed & roomy stand-up shower (no tub). The room was quiet, and the AC worked well, which was great as it was VERY hot and humid outside. The hot water in the shower was very sensitive and seemed to vary depending on other guests usage. The complimentary breakfast room was stocked with simple self serve foods, which was very convenient for us, to be able to get right up and to the track early the next morning. There was also a full self-service kitchen. Although we didn't use it, there was a very well maintained outdoor swimming pool, as well as a large adjacent parking lot suitable for parking trucks & trailer. This hotel is dated, but a safe, clean place to stay.

Was visiting a friend in Jersey with my boyfriend so obtained a room here. I was greeted by a friendly woman at reception. I stayed in a King bed room. This is a no frills, budget room but it was a very spacious room with a love seat, desk and chair. Also room was clean with some toiletries in the bathroom. There is a free continental breakfast in the morning and the hotel is about a 30 min drive to the Atlantic City boardwalk.

We had to stay here due to team soccer tournament as this was one of the mandatory hotels on the EDP tournament site. So we had no choice. Door lock was replaced twice and still didn’t work. We just used the security lock for the night. Anyone could walk in if that’s not across the door. Hotel website says all rooms have refrigerators, irons and ironing boards, and microwaves. We didn’t have any of that. When we asked at the front desk we were told not all rooms have those things. This is completely false advertising. The front desk then said we can leave any refrigerated stuff in their refrigerator across the parking lot. When we moved the garbage can a spot in the carpet under it was cut out and a hole left there. There was an old piece of gum stuck on the side of the head board. The doorknob on the bathroom door was falling of. The air conditioning barely worked. The best part was the maintenance guy who was very pleasant and apologetic. He felt we should be moved but the front desk apparently didn’t agree with Him because they never offered. We have never left a review on any site but if considering this hotel you need to stay elsewhere!!!

Let me start with the positives: it's a good location, halfway between Philly and halfway to the beach. If you don't mind driving an hour to either of those places, this is good. You are also right near the Atlantic City Expressway. The rooms are spacious, too. And the bed was comfy. So those are the pluses, if you can get past the bad..... The bad: it's not that clean. First off, there are piles of garbage right near the stairs. I would hate to be the person in the room right next to the garbage. It was there for three days. It was overflowing. There was a half eaten corn on the cob on the steps. It was just gross. Plus, it was hot and there were bugs. You can't have that piling up in the middle of summer. Second, we legit walked by an empty room that had the curtains open and just inside the room in front of the window for all to see was a bottle of bed bug and flea remover. That is something you NEVER want to see when you are at a hotel. I don't even care if the hotel doesn't have bed bugs or fleas, at least hide the bed bug spray. Once i saw that, I about freaked out. I started googling this place, and a few reviewers said there were bed bugs. At that point, I just wanted to leave. Third, found bugs in the bathroom. Don't know what they were, but they looked like tiny roaches or beetles. They weren't bed bugs, though. Fourth, there were some interesting folks hanging out past midnight. I also got the impression that the hotel had some long term guests as evidenced by the extra furniture and accessories in some of the rooms that you could see through the open doors and windows, such as patio chairs and candles. Honestly, I usually don't leave bad reviews, but I was hella uncomfortable here. I didn't bring my concerns to the management since we only slept a few hours each day here, but I would just avoid this place if you can.

We stayed here with a group of friends for New years Weekend as we were going back and forth to Absecon and Atlantic City (30 min drive). Reservations online and check in was painless but the first room assigned to us had a strong smell of mold and water damage to the window area. We asked to be moved and that was not an issue. Second room was fine and relatively clean but one of our friends were given our first moldy room when he checked in later. He also opted for a different room without issue. Parking lot had plenty of space and we did not avail ourselves of the free continental breakfast served so we cannot comment. Door locks and heating/AC units could stand being replaced and cleaned bu they did work well. If you need a Budget motel for a reasonable price, this will work but do not expect a Hampton Inn or Comfort Suites. This is an old worn down motel that is a reasonably decent stay when in the area.

Was welcomed by a nice lady at the reception desk and a great smelling Lobby. It smelled like Christmas! Got a room on the first floor with parking right out front. Room was spacious and clean. Included a king size bed, desk, couch and refrigerator. Not fancy but was good for the price. There's an outdoor pool for the summer and a 20 minute drive to AC.

I new it wouldn't be fancy. I stayed for a soccer tournament and it is close to the turf farm. It is so not with it to stay here. It is dirty, smells like smoke, has mold in the rooms, was filled with decrepit furniture, and both the heating/cooling unit and the deadbolt were hanging off the wall/door. I had tp slide a chair in front of the door. Windows were cracked. No elevator which is fine unless you have to hop a suitcase up slippery stairs in the pouring rain. Housekeeping did nothing except toss a bar of soap on the sink. Breakfast was a murky cup of coffee and well, we abandoned that for DD up the block. You could not pay me to stay there again.

Pros: clean good size room, basic breakfast included, Cons: room had broken dead bolt, breakfast does not include any protein items except milk, all cereals were sweet. Price was higher then for basic.
