Owner was very nice once she let us in. We stood on the porch with our bags in 90+ degree weather for 10 minutes watching her through the window speaking to another guest while she looked at us and held up her index finger gesturing to us to wait for her. When the other guest finally saw we were hot...

We were down for the weekend with our family and we felt so welcomed by the inn keeper. They were extremely gracious and lovely! The Inn is so quaint and ideally located. It is a gem! We will certainly be back.

This is a lovely house, with a great wrap around porch, the location is perfect, just ablock away from Washington St. and it's probably the best priced B&B in Cape May. If a full breakfast is something you need, then this is probably not the place for you, since they only serve a continental breakfast (muffins, toast, cereal, ect.) but...

We stayed her in June and thoroughly enjoyed our room on the first floor with the private entrance. There are better and more elaborate breakfasts at other inns but the selection was certainly adequate and the access to coffee and hot water 24/7 was a nice benefit. We would definitely stay here again. Plus a big thanks to Rita for...

My husband and I stayed here last weekend. For a last minute kid-free getaway, we had limited choices for a place to stay. Thankfully Captain Mey's had an opening. We stayed in the Queen Beatrix room, which was decorated in traditional Victorian style. The room was so quiet. We never heard any other guest. The bed was super comfy and...

My cousin and our mothers stayed here in late April 2014. It was a cool and rainy few days so we really appreciated the 24-hour coffee/tea/hot chocolate! Rita was around a lot and had time for many a friendly chat; she was a wonderful hostess. Breakfast was casual, comfortable and fine. The whole place had been freshly decorated and we...

We arrived at Captain Mey's Inn on July 24. We were greeted by Rita the owner. Owner and employees were pleasant and always eager to help. I particularly liked the continental breakfast because it's a little more informal and you don't have specific seating times. The fresh baked muffins were great as was the 24 hr coffee and tea. The...

I debated whether to give 3 or 4 stars. The other place I stayed in Cape May -- Angel of the Sea -- was much better as far as the food and rooms are concerned, although it was more expensive. There is nothing per se "wrong" with the Captain Mey, but I think you can do better. It certainly wouldn't...

Stayed for a long weekend and can't wait to go back. Room was very quaint and comfortable. Breakfast was delish. Loved being able to fix a cup of coffee anytime and enjoy it on the huge front porch. Perfect location in Cape May. Only a short walk to the beach, shopping, and dining.

My wife and I were in town for a wedding I was in. The location was exactly what I was looking for. I parked my car and we went by foot to all the events I needed to be at. We stayed in Capt. Johan. The room was very quaint, as well as the bathroom, but everything was adequate and...

“Owner was very nice once she let us in. We stood on the porch with our bags in 90+ degree weather for 10 minutes watching her through the window speaking to another guest while she looked at us and held up her index finger gesturing to us to wait for her. When the other guest finally saw we were hot and getting impatient, they finally told the owner to let us in. She was very nice and explained about the B & B and took us to our room. That was the last we ever saw of her. The AC in the room was insuficient and there were 2 winter blankets on the bed. No light weight blankets. The sheets on our queen bed were pilled and sooo uncomfortable on my skin. The "fitted" sheet came off on both sides within 10 minutes of getting into bed so we were sleeping on scratchy pilled crinkled up sheets...basically sleeping half on the sheet pile and half on the waterproof mattress cover. The pillows were so overstuffed and hard that they were useless...unless you wanted to commit to a stiff neck for 4 days. And did I mention how hot it was?!? My final complaint was the breakfast. A plate of bagels, english muffins and a bowl of hard boiled eggs left on the table with no "staff" anywhere in sight. Seriously?!? I have never stayed in a B&B that didn't make you a really nice cooked breakfast. It was way worse than any chain hotel's cont. breakfast. Did I really pay $160 for this? I recommend you stay at a Holiday Inn Express over the Captain Mey's B&B anytime.”
