Tried this inn for the first time and loved it. Perfect location, one block from the pedestrian mall and you can see the beach. Right on the corner of the prettiest street in Cape May. Huge front porch, spotless rooms. Beautiful victorian decorating. Bed was very comfortable. We did not hear any noise during the night at all which was...

Captain Mey's is a low key B & B. The owner was kind and accommodating with our later arrival. The location was next to the lovely outdoor shopping area and a very short walk to the beach. The room was small, but sufficient. The bathroom in the Willem the Silent Poet room was very small and it was difficult to...

Nice quiet bed and breakfast, stayed in first floor room with private bath! Relaxing wrap around porch to sit and people watch! This bed and breakfast is in a great location, within blocks of beach and very near to shopping area.

Peaceful, relaxing get-away. Innkeeper, Rita, encourages "making yourself at home," which was appreciated. Laid back atmosphere was perfect. Self-check-in was fine. Beautiful Victorian décor throughout. Rooms are accommodating and clean. Captain Johan room is small with small bathroom/shower but met our needs. Bed incredibly comfortable and we slept very well. Continental breakfast served from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., which allowed...

We like this place a lot. The room was beautiful. The breakfast was very nice. Throughout the day, you can get coffees, teas, yogurt, and some fresh fruit. The location is perfect between the beach and the town center where you can get something to eat or relax. Price is very reasonable.

We stayed at the hotel once as a couple, it was descent bedding and place not great but good enough for our needs, except the noise on the terrasse and the smell of people smoking close to our room on the patio, although they are not supposed to, we had to tell them. Months after our stay, we wrote to...

I had a gift certificate purchased from the prior owners for 3 days and I had used only 2 days. These new owners refused to honor the gift certificate. Yes they don't have to but it was poor PR and judging from the reviews the service has deteriorated tremendously under their management.

THe late check-in Friday evening went smoothly however that was the last positive we experienced. Our room was on the third floor and you could not stand on one side of the bed because of the slanted ceiling. The bathroom floor was old dirty carpet which was gross. The shower door was missing and instead had a shower curtain hung....

Pros: Location cannot be better. 2 blocks from the beach, half block from all the shops. Very clean, big rooms. (We stayed on the 3rd floor) Cons: Children not allowed, so if you have younger children will need to look elsewhere. Did not try the breakfast as they were a ton of great places we wanted to try nearby.

The room was on the third floor so the ceiling was low in places. Everything was clean, and the free wifi worked well. The two person tub was great for a relaxing soak. The continental breakfast was average. Late check in was a breeze, and the proprietor was easy to reach by phone.

“Owner was very nice once she let us in. We stood on the porch with our bags in 90+ degree weather for 10 minutes watching her through the window speaking to another guest while she looked at us and held up her index finger gesturing to us to wait for her. When the other guest finally saw we were hot and getting impatient, they finally told the owner to let us in. She was very nice and explained about the B & B and took us to our room. That was the last we ever saw of her. The AC in the room was insuficient and there were 2 winter blankets on the bed. No light weight blankets. The sheets on our queen bed were pilled and sooo uncomfortable on my skin. The "fitted" sheet came off on both sides within 10 minutes of getting into bed so we were sleeping on scratchy pilled crinkled up sheets...basically sleeping half on the sheet pile and half on the waterproof mattress cover. The pillows were so overstuffed and hard that they were useless...unless you wanted to commit to a stiff neck for 4 days. And did I mention how hot it was?!? My final complaint was the breakfast. A plate of bagels, english muffins and a bowl of hard boiled eggs left on the table with no "staff" anywhere in sight. Seriously?!? I have never stayed in a B&B that didn't make you a really nice cooked breakfast. It was way worse than any chain hotel's cont. breakfast. Did I really pay $160 for this? I recommend you stay at a Holiday Inn Express over the Captain Mey's B&B anytime.”
