My boyfriend and I stayed one night in the Austrian room as we were heading to the east coast of Maine for a 2 weeks vacation. This is the smallest (and cheapest) room of the inn but was just perfect for a one night stay. The owners weren't there when we arrived but left us the key on the front...

My husband, son and I stayed in the Italian Suite for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room is perfect for a small family, with the separate bunk room and sunroom to spread out. Breakfast was delicious and served in the pretty, inviting front porch (enclosed). The homemade peach/coconut muffins were to die for and their coffee pleased even...

We stayed one night at the Wilderness Inn when going to the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train. The Inn was literally around the corner and the accommodations were pleasant. We stayed in the India room and it was just large enough for my husband and I. Any more than one night though and we would have preferred a larger room. The...

Our experience was really great. We stayed in the caribbean cottage 2 nights and loved it. It is a small, cozy, clean, bright cottage in the back of the inn but separate from the main building. We did not get to use the deck (it was raining while we were there most of the time) but I imagine it would...

Dear Guest, We appreciate your taking the time to write a review. I am glad you enjoyed the cottage and our breakfasts. Our pancakes are special since we use an artisan flour from King Arthur in our family recipe. And the cottage....I am glad you liked it. In fact Michael is re-sanding the wood floor as I write, so it...

We stayed in the Caribbean cottage. If you are looking for luxury then this isn't for you, but we had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay here and if you love being in the wilderness then this is ideal. The cottage was very quaint and cosy and I thought quite romantic. The owners are so friendly and helpful and came...

Dear Guests, Thank you for your recent visit to the Wilderness Inn. I am glad you enjoyed the French room and our breakfast. Our muffin recipe at the back of our business card has changed slightly. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to The Wilderness Inn Bed and Breakfast, a 1910 Craftsman Style lodge in the heart of the White Mountains. We are ideally located close to Franconia Notch State Park, The Flume Gorge, The Lost River, Loon and Cannon Mountain ski areas, the Kancamagus Highway, and within a scenic drive to Mount Washinton and Squam Lake. Our favorite aspect of innkeeping is sharing information about our beautiful area. We are glad to talk extensively with our guests about the best places to hike, bike, canoe, swim, fish, and ski. We have numerous books about the local area in our living room that you may peruse as you sit by the gas fireplace enjoying your evening libations. The highlight at our Inn is our "cooked to order" breakfast which includes a starter of juice, fresh fruit salad, and Chef Alan's freshly baked muffins of the day; followed by your choice of Eggs Your Way, Omelets with your choice of vegetables, bacon morsels, and/or cheeses, French Toast with Fruit Compote of the day, Crepes made with fresh fruit, or House Recipe Pancakes served with 100% pure maple syrup as well as our homemade apple and cranberry syrups. All seven rooms/suites and the cottage have private baths, three have jetted tubs, and two have gas fireplaces also. Complementary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available anytime during the day. We hope to welcome you soon to our home. We are Alan and Karen Trudell: New Owners with a New Vision. ... more   less
