We stayed at The Lion and the Rose for one night, on our way back from Maine to Ontario. Chris and Roger were welcoming hosts, made us feel comfortable, and even verified our reservations for dinner at the TimBir Alley restaurant in LIttleton. The breakfast was huge and wonderful. They set a fine family-style table (with candleabra!) so you can... More

My wife and I wanted to escape for a few days for our anniversary and during the course of time had purchased 2 nights at the Lion and the Rose. We felt it was the perfect time to use them. Chris and Roger open the doors with a smile and a welcome and make you feel like you have just... More

The house was large but our room was small, with no night tables. The bathroom included a toilet and shower only, with the sink being in the main bedroom. There was a room air conditioner but the night was cool and the only option for getting some mountain air at night was to leave the door opening onto the porch... More

Lovely hostess... Welcomed instantly... Beautiful eclectic furnishing...fabulous linens! Candlelit breakfast was an opulent touch😉 five of us at the table - a Canadian, a Scot, a Brazilian and a Philadelphian. Interesting experience for a Tuesday am!

I cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for me during my stay at the Lion and The Rose Bed and Breakfast in Whitefield, NH. A wonderful place to spend a four day getaway. Chris and Roger had a constant stream of suggestions for park areas to visit, restaurants to try, and towns to explore. Breakfast held us over until about dinnertime and it was wonderful to have a full gluten free meal. Much more personality than a cookie cutter hotel room, and a great... More

This place all that you need for a cozy little get away in the mountains, clean and well maintained for this area. Not far of a drive for several attractions, we drove out to Mount Washington on one of the days. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

Just spent two nights at The Lion and the Rose B&B, 4/11/2015 and 4/12/2015 and had a wonderful stay! The place was spotless! Stayed in the Egyptian room which had a king sized bed, beautiful sheets and super comfy pillows not to mention a goose down comforter (slept like a baby!) The decor was really nice, kind of Victorian art... More

If you want a cozy stay in a victorian era B&B this is the place! Chris and Roger are wonderful! We were met at the door by Chris and we felt like she was family right away. She even contacted a local restaurant to make dinner reservations for us. We had the room at the top of the stairs that... More

The Lion and the Rose is one of the nicest B&B we have stayed at. The owners, Chris and Roger are wonderful hosts, warmly welcoming us and going to great lengths to make sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. Our room (and the rest of the house) are spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. They gave excellent information... More
