We stayed at Martin Hill Inn on a record breaking, brutally cold night in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and the inn was the precisely the warmth we needed. Martin Hill Inn was easy to find, with plenty of parking space back behind the property. The innkeepers are helpful, friendly and full of knowledge and great stories about the area. We stayed...

We stayed two nights at the Martin Hill Inn over President's Day weekend (2017). Russ welcomed us to our room which was very comfortable. We were not in the main house but on the first floor of the second house. The best was comfortable although the bathroom was quite small. There was a lot of little touch that made a...

A friend and I from the Boston area recently took a quick overnight trip to Portsmouth for a get-away. We found the Martin Hill Inn on-line and were very glad we did. The Inn is cozy, and very conveniently located near the center of town, about a 15 minute walk or a short drive. Russ, our hospitable host, greeted us...

What a wonderful place! The hosts are so friendly and welcoming, yet they let you do your thing and are not invasive. Plenty of nice touches like free coffee, tea cookies and sherry. I stayed in the Cathedral room and it was huge with a little living room area, a four poster bed and en-suite bathroom. When we came back...

My sister was visiting from England so I wanted to take her to a special place. The Martin Hill Inn was that place. Russ and Meg gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and we had a comfortable and spacious room on the ground floor. The Inn is also in a good location; it took us only about ten...

From the moment you enter the Inn, Russ and Megan welcome you into their 19th century Inn. Literally. The room I stayed in was the Ranger. Thoughtful conveniences are found, with free bottles of water and snacks. The room was tastefully decorated, capturing the old along with the new, creating a unique living space. If the room snacks aren't enough,...
