The two of us stayed in room 8 for Columbus Day weekend. The room was quiet but the bed was squeaky yet very comfortable. The bathroom is small with a tiny shower. Breakfast was made to order with the delicious blueberry pancakes coming in as my favorite over the omelettes. At

Thank you for your great feedback. We just want to highlight that ALL our rooms have a private bathroom, so no need to ask for a private bath when you book with us!

This B&B is in a house built in 1840, therefore its rooms are quirky/cozy rather than large and convenient. of you can accept that you are in for a treat it is run by a friendly family and the breakfast which is made to order is special.

Thank you for your feedback. We are a Bed & Breakfast and my husband and I attend to everything in our home: from cooking breakfast, to housekeeping and welcoming guests. We are human beings and try our best to be present for our current guests, but we definitely can't greet them goodbye at the front desk during high season, when we are either cooking breakfast or cleaning up the rooms. We are sorry you felt disappointed about this and felt it was impersonal. Breakfast time is clearly mentioned on our website and on any confirmation email. We also welcomed you and told you during check-in what were the breakfast hours. If one decides to sleep in, we cannot be held responsible and cannot wait for half an hour to see if one will finally show up! Furthermore, there is indeed coffee, tea and hot cocoa available at ALL TIME in the dining room: you probably didn't see there was a Keurig machine there at all time of day/night (that we showed you upon check in as well), except during breakfast time when we get our French roast morning coffee out! Sometimes the Keurig is heavily used and there is no more water in the reservoir, and our guests have never hesitated to go in the kitchen to fill it up! As for the cookies, we bake them every day and once they are all eaten, there is no more until the next day! We apologize we were not there at 10 pm to help you out with this, but as we get up every morning very early to prepare breakfast, we need to go to bed pretty early as well! Finally, for your information the carpets in the loft building were changed 4 years ago and the musky smell you smelled might have been coming from people in other guest rooms.

What is the weather generally like there in mid October?
Usually, before October 10, it is sunny and in the mid 40s during the day (colder at night). After October 10-15, it is more windy and we might even have a few snow showers here and there (it is not uncommon to have snow on or the week before Halloween). For leaf peeping, the best time to come is first week of October to Columbus day weekend. After October 10, there are chances all the leaves are on the ground.

Planning a trip in October. There is a hot Tub? Best thing after hiking.
Yes, our outdoor hot tub is open year round, daily between 10 am and 9 pm. It's a 4-people hot tub.
