Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was traveling to visit my son and found this perfect inn to stay at and will be back for sure; in fact I can't wait. I was traveling with my lab and they were so accommodating and friendly. Everything was charming, spotless and so comfortable. Such a relaxing, peaceful setting, right in the middle to this quaint town. Hospitality at its best and made my trip a very special one.

I stayed in Room 25 and it was a very interesting experience. I tried to explain to the front desk that I wasn't comfortable using the "Plumbing Free" toilet, but was told that I was being culturally inappropriate. The smell became an issue by the second day. When I asked to change room "Jack" just laughed at me and told me that "Mud Season comes early sometimes". I don't even get what he meant, but we checked out early and thankfully found an Airbnb with modern plumbing.

This was our second visit. This time we got Room 25, which screamed with "new england quaint" decor. Unfortunately, a constant and clear "poop" smell in the air prevented us from enjoying our stay. We requested a room change, but it was not received well left us feeling ridiculed. On the last day of our visit, a complaint was put in due to us leaving the windows open when we were out for the day. Before we left, one of the owners (Jacks) offered us a coupon for a free small plate at Ariana's Restaurant. We ordered the scallops and were told that the coupon was not valid and that Jack had left for the day. I don't think we will be returning anytime soon and I definitely would recommend you avoid Room 25.

we stayed for only one night, but we can see that this hotel has the potential to be a nice spot for 2-3 day stop in the area. good food experience. the only negative aspect is breakfast time. We were heading for a meeting at 8am and could get the breakfast at the place, breakfast is served from 8 to 10 am.

The inn is so welcoming- tastefully decorated for the holidays- extremely friendly staff. our room (Dartmouth suite) was huge and had a lovely view of the village green. The bed was super comfy and the room had all the amenities we would need. Breakfast (way more than just continental) was delicious and so plentiful that we didn't even want lunch. Dinner at Ariana's was a joy. This visit was a charming oasis in a winter wonderland.

We visited the Lyme Inn this past weekend with some friends. This was a couple trip to see the area and the fall foliage. The Inn was very welcoming and quaint. There was a lot of attention to detail in the shared areas as well as the rooms., The Inn keeper was very friendly. Property was clean, well maintained , and decorated for the harvest holiday. We would recommend a visit to the Lyme Inn!

The Lyme Inn B&B was absolutely wonderful. The Inn Keeper, Jack Elliott and his entire staff were most gracious. The rooms are extremely well done, the flowers and lawn are amazing. The breakfast was very good and we ate sorry we missed Arian’s restaurant. It is closed Monday-Wednesday. We will make a point of staying at Lyme Inn anytime we are in the area.

From the moment I walked in and was greeted by Marilyn at the front desk, our entire stay was wonderful. Room was spacious, all the little things you expect but don't always get when away from home (bedside tables for BOTH, phone charging stations for BOTH-- I could go on and on). We were able to bring our beloved dog and there were convenient places to walk her. The breakfast wasn't just light, it was a generous spread and very well prepared. Dinner at Ariana's was also good. All the staff are friendly and helpful. No stuffiness here! We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

The Lyme Inn is a charming, warm, and friendly Inn to stay. The room had everything we could want and needed including fluffy robes. It is in a quiet town near Dartmouth and on the border of VT. Easy driving to many entertaining day trips.

What a delightful stay at the Lyme Inn! From the moment I first called the gentleman who answered the phone, who I assume was the innkeeper, was extremely friendly. We had the same pleasant experience upon checking in, the couple at the desk made us feel so welcomed. (I have been to too many cooperate hotels where the front desk staff could care less about whether or not you check in!) But here, it’s so personable and incredibly friendly. The room was lovely & clean with a four poster bed and fireplace. The bed and linens were extremely comfortable. We checked in with our 2 boys, so they offered us the suite that had a pull out sofa for them. I love how each room has its own coffee/fridge/microwave set up. My 10 year old son also wanted to contribute to the review: “The breakfast was so good and the garden had so many flowers, and it smells amazing! Over All the place was amazing, and all the food was so good and I will definitely stay here again!”
