I stayed at IHR for a wedding Oct 1st to 3rd. I tried to get the hotel manager to contact me back before writing this but there was no response. Positives: Outside scenery was stunning, Wedding itself and reception afterward, awesome. Brad the bartender was EXCELLENT. Front desk staff GREAT. Negatives: The resort is very aged, not worth $100 a night much less the $240 I paid. The room had pee stains on the floor, the shower had an 8 inch long black hair (I have a military cut and its gray). The rooms across from the main building we not very handicapped accessible nor was the main facility itself. We had to drive my parents around the building to get them to the reception. The place was booked solid on Friday night and the dining facility was not open and to make matters worse, not a dinning establishment in town could seat us in under 90 minutes. Not a good situation after driving 13 hours. Stop advertising as a resort, you are not except for the natural surroundings. Terminate your housekeeping staff or at least supervision. I have good friends who own and operate a large hotel/conference center and when they are short staffed, even the family owners pitch in with housekeeping. Their facility is beautiful with a spectacular view and rooms much nicer for $96 a night. If it wasn't for friends, family and a great wedding, I would have left to find another hotel the first night, especially for the cost. Come to think of it, I didn't spend this much for an Ocean side luxury hotel room at a resort in Costa Rica a few months ago. I'd be happy to speak with the hotel manager about my experience if you ever decide to answer my request on your web site. Thanks, EJH

Nice location near some great hikes and the grounds were quite nice. When we pulled in, it definitely had some old lodge charm. The room was a bit tired, but spacious and had a nice balcony. The bathroom had some issues. We found a used towel on the back of the bathroom door otherwise the room seemed 'clean enough' but not great. Unfortunately the sink barely drained, which was kind of gross, and the shower barely worked and after a long day of hiking, a trickle of lukewarm water (when you put to all cold, it came out faster but the hot water was clearly scared to come out)) that turned to cold 5-10 minutes into the shower was a bummer to say the least. Tried calling the front desk 5-6 times to see if they could fix and got no answer and when my husband mentioned it in the morning so they could address for the next person, they didn't seem concerned about it all and made no mention that they'd check it out. Oh well. And then my husband was woken up in the middle of the night from some critter 'scritching' in the wall. The power went out as well just before I went to bed, but I don't know that was something they had any control over (but I don't remember a storm). In the morning, we enjoyed their breakfast buffet and our server was really nice. After we ate, we wanted to go up in the observation tower but unfortunately the machine where you could buy tokens to go up wouldn't take any of our dollars and the gift shop was closed so we couldn't see about buying some in there. Disappointing. Ultimately, when you pay $240 (yep - $240) for a night, you expect a bit more to say the least (or at least a draining sink and working shower). Oh well. Won't be staying there again. Ever. Hopefully others have a better experience!

The room is spacious, there are two sinks, one is inside the bathroom, another one is outside. The carpet inside the room looked dirty, the bathtub had several black spots on it. I turned on the water, these got washed away. There was hair on the bathroom curtain. Because of these, I just didn’t feel they cleaned the room well. The check in and out was quick, the staff was friendly.

we spent 3 days and 2 nights last week at Indian Head. We went for our 45th Wedding Anniversary. The same place we spent our Honeymoon. The young lady at the front desk was wonderful.... very nice, very acamodating. However, the room we had was very outdated... it was clean. We were on the 2nd floor which is made to feel like it was in the basement. We had a nice breakfast one morning, but the following 2 mornings they only had a breakfast buffet which did not fit our budget. They definitely cater to the Senior Citizen bus tours. It is perfect for that. The grounds are nice. There is an inside and outside pool. We felt the cost was way overpriced. The fact that the room was so outdated, had a living in the basement feel was very much a turn-off for us. The young lady at the front desk was the biggest positive for us.
