My husband and I hiked and stayed at 2 of the huts this past fall, but wanted to try some winter hiking. Highland Center Lodge was the perfect place to stay! We rented a private bunk room with a shared bath, so it had the feeling of the high huts (the bunks, the shared bath, the meals), but it also...

Great service from friendly staff who operate the highland centre. The centre is set in the park among the woods and views of the mountains. Ecofriendly and considerately run business who you can tell care about the environment and the beautiful nature surrounding the property. In the evenings they offer food and some entertainment. Also provide guided hikes and activities...

This was the first time I stayed in Highland Center in winter. It is as beautiful surroundings (if not more impressive) than in the summer. White Mountains covered with snow are striking. The trails around the center were well packed for hiking and we also were able to snow shoe. The rooms are very comfortable, we stayed in the bunk...

Stayed at Highland Center as part of a group. Meals were buffet-style and plenty o choose from. However, at breakfast, the hot items were lukewarm at the best and the fried potatoes quite dark. Room was small, but had plenty of hooks and a drawer to store your stuff. If space under the bench and bed would be a little...

It is a lodge that focused on a specific group of people and you will not like your stay if you expect it operating like a hotel. I stayed at the 2-person bunk. The room is very small - just a bunk bed, a drawer, and a two sears sofa, two small bed lamps, and two towels. The common shower...

I stayed here as part of a group hike nearby in January. Cost of meals and lodging were built into my package so can't speak to those two items. Lodge staff were welcoming and accommodating to our small group. I stayed in a bunk room with two bunks (four beds), I only had one roommate, and she was another member...

Been visiting and staying at highland center since 2011. Clean and very convenient place to grab a bunk and a meal. Private rooms are available. Bathrooms are shared. Great shop and lobby, free LL Bean gear to try out for a day if needed. Dinner is good and served family style Sun-Thurs, buffet all other times. People are incredibly friendly...

We had such a Great time at the Highland Center this December. We went to the white mountains to go skiing but also enjoyed some snowy hiking and dogsledding. The atmosphere in the Highland Center was cozy and welcoming.

Clean, courteous, great location. we stayed in the fall (off-season) for a hiking trip. The suite was beautiful with a jacuzzi and fireplace in the room. They also allowed pets for an additional small fee.

I booked a room online for a surprise getaway for my wife on our anniversary. Seamless booking and check in. Cozy room with a beautiful view- some people might be turned off because there was no TV, but we loved it. Breakfast and supper are included in the room rate, and the buffets were well stocked and if you went...
