Travellers' Choice
The Adair Country Inn and Restaurant is a romantic retreat nestled on 200 acres of private property in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. With nine charming and comfortably appointed rooms, you'll want to cuddle up in our feather beds with the fireplace on. In the morning, you'll wake up to the smell of popovers that are baked fresh daily and served with our three course gourmet breakfast. Venture out on one of the many trails of Adair where you may see moose, black bear, or even some wild turkeys. Take up a rousing game of tennis or a fierce shuffleboard competition in the afternoon. Enjoy some tea on the patio overlooking the spectacular grounds designed by the Olmsted Brothers. In the evening, join us in the bar for a cocktail before dining at our highly acclaimed restaurant. After dinner, take up a friendly game of pool in our Granite Room on our circa 1920 pool table, before retiring to your room where you'll feel as though you're sleeping on a cloud. Come home to Adair and fall in love again.

Adair Country Inn has done an excellent job of maintaining the historical integrity of the property and Inn while providing all the modern amenities in their rooms. We had the Lincoln Room and Kinsman Suite, which had a lovely deck and beautiful view from the second floor of the main house. The staff was very friendly and we wished we had more time to enjoy the basement which resembles a Speakeasy from the days of Prohibition. We will definitely be back.

This is our second time to the Adair and we have enjoyed it both times. The grounds are lovely, as is the inn itself. The breakfast is always wonderful, especially the popovers! What a beautiful place.

My husband and I spent a week at Adair in the Kinsman room. Overall, it was an excellent experience. We arrived late in the evening for check-in and were able to get a last minute table for dinner. Dinner was delicious! Savannah showed us to our room and Stacey (Inn Keeper) gave us a tour. The house and grounds are equally beautiful and well maintained. Our only complaints: the smoke detector in our room was so sensitive it went off every time steam from a shower reached it; and the walls are very thin. We could hear our neighbor yelling at a football game and a few nights, something heavy was being rolled across the floor above us. However, this did not hinder our overall experience. All of the staff were very pleasant, especially Martha, who we had as a server on several occasions. Breakfast was always delicious and we took advantage of the 'packed lunch' service for a day of hiking in the area. It was the perfect honeymoon stay and we plan to return again in the future.

Beautiful setting, wonderful main house with excellent staff and food. We found the 1811 House too far removed from the main house, stair light was too bright at night, and essentially no wi fi service. Landscaping will come I’m sure to make it more appealing.

We felt like we were staying with family at the Adair. It is very quiet and the rooms are lovely. Can’t say enough about the bed - my husband and I slept like babies. The staff was very accommodating. Loved the small cocktail lounge and wished it opened every evening.
