The facility is dated. You can find better places to eat, gamble drink and socialize, within walking distance, but if you can find a coupon, not many places cheaper to sleep. Again, the rooms are dated and housekeeping is average, but if you are only going to sleep there, the rooms are acceptable.

Visited the Sands Casino recently in Reno NV. It seemed to be an older place & was quite smoky in the casino area. Not too many slots & we had hoped for more.. We didn't get a room here. We were told that many of the locals gambled there. We would recommend other places in Reno. Still a good place...

I read the negative reviews and was worried, but it turned out the reviews were mostly not correct. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and cleaned daily. There is a good mix of restaurants at the hotel and one is always open. There is a good mix of gaming options. Reservations can be made by...

we stayed here Sept 17th and they required a 70.00 deposit for the room, that's normal, but here we are Oct 29th and many phone calls later (some being transferred and avoided with no return calls) and still no deposit return so a room for 100.00 turned into a room for $170.00 for one night in this place is totally...

While turning on the bedside lamp a condom fell off of the light bulb onto my mates arm. More than GROSS! Then when the bathroom door was closed another condom was hanging from the doorknob. Just how clean can this room be? When housekeeping was brought in to show them our issues, pictures were taken and we were told someone...

My experience was awful. Dirty from the rooms, laundry, casino to the parking lot. I stayed recently during the air races and IF I HAD KNOWN I would have have moved after the first night due to unclean conditions in the room towels. But, my room was prepaid, non refundable. So against my better judgement I stayed. So I drip...

The hotel is older so it is a little run down and it has that old hotel smell. The rooms are clean. They have a little buffet and its very very inexpensive and they also have a taco place and a cafe . They have a fitness center and a "spa" aswell. During our stay ( I went with my...

Off the strip, inexpensive rooms with great city views and very comfortable beds. I have a seriously bad back. After a 15 hour Amtrak train ride, I needed a good rest. I got it here. The room was immaculate. Very clean. I attended a conference on the strip. Walking from the Sands into the city is not fantastic. I saw...

On a tight budget for an extended stay, I chose The Sands. The front desk was very accommodating since I was traveling with my handicapped, elderly mother. She hadn't been to Reno for 40 years, so I asked and received a room w/ a city view. It has a well lit parking lot in front, but more care for Players...
