The front desk is so friendly and provided helpful recommendations. The hotel accommodations are roomy and clean. I love how pet-friendly the hotel and staff are. I would do valet parking as it's more convenient and the staff there are helpful as well. All around, they went above and beyond for us. This is my go-to spot when in Reno from now on. It's in the middle of everything and has great views.
We LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel!!!! Our dog is ALWAYS welcome and they remember his name!!!! We had dinner at the Whitney Cafe and the food is great price and perfect size. Flavorful, tender awesome drinks! Valet parking is the best also!!! Professional clean and really take their job seriously! Room options for special events or in general per floor level We wont stay ANYWHERE else in reno!!!
Busy packed weekend here. Greeted by valet “let us take care of you.” Um wow! Smooth check in. Room was spacious for us and two dogs. Dog park is perfectly located. Gift bag for dogs. Very clean room. Very comfortable bed. Just a great place!
I selected this property due to its proximity to the Reno Arch - the starting line of the Reno River Run that I regularly participate in. I also travel to Reno a lot for work and I have a son who attends UNR. The location of the hotel is prime - right in the middle of the action. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end for this property. The parking situation is not very clear - valet is on the side street and unless you know where you're going, you will likely miss it. The self-parking is across the street - again, not very clear. We chose valet for the convenience although it is a $15/day charge compared to the $5/day (or free if you book direct) for the self-parking. Downtown Reno can be an unpleasant place after dark and we didn't want to deal with any issues during our stay. The absolutely WORST part about our stay was the elevator situation. The hotel has 3 elevators. Unfortunately, one was out of order. Then, there is a sign indicating for guests to call BOTH remaining elevators as they are not on the same system. This seems innocent enough until you realize that people on the upper floors will be pushing both buttons making BOTH elevators stop at every floor on the way up or down. The wait time to take an elevator exceeded 10 minutes most of the time and on checkout, it was close to 30 minutes! On top of that, the stairwells had an alarm system indicating emergency exit only. This is a non-smoking, non-gaming facility, which is fine by me, but aside from a typical hotel cafe and the adjoining BaseCamp rock climbing facility, there is absolutely nothing special about this hotel, certainly nothing to justify the price we paid. If you like to gamble, I would stay at one of the adjacent casinos for a much better rate. If you're in town for a ball game or a convention, I would look at the Marriott, Renaissance or Hilton properties throughout the city. If this hotel were $50/night, it would be fine. But at $200/night it was not worth the dough.…
While this facility is ok, I can't say I'd recommend them. It seems clean enough and the rooms are fine. But two big problems. Their valet parking assured me they had charging stations and would plug in my PHEV overnight, but did not do so. And as 11 PM an alarm went off for fully 45 minutes, assuring me we were not in any danger. If so, shut it off!!! Hand sanitizers were mostly empty. The front desk wouldn't give me change of a $20 bill so I could tip their staff....apparently having cash there is against their policy. Food in the limited restaurant was good. Reno is kind of a dump though, so don't expect much.
