Dropped in unexpectedly while looking for a place to eat dinner. Went up to the restaurant on the second floor. There was no wait for the restaurant. The menu reminded me of casino fare from the '70s--all at decent prices. I had the prime rib special and it was excellent.

Finer people and high rollers might call this casino a dump, but it's a fun place for small players. This 55 year old casino in need of a total remodel reminds you of a small Stardust Las Vegas just before it closed. Lots of the older slot machines. Lots of 1 cent and 5 cent machines. Many great paying Blazing...

Like always, I stopped in Reno after arriving on the Amtrak train from Omaha. I like to stop at the Cal Neva because it was my home away from home when I lived in the Bay. Sadly, since William Hill took over, the Sportsbook has gone downhill. Just doesn't have that same feel. Sure, there were characters all over the...

We have been going here for close to 40 years and is the only casino we play at when we go to Reno, we go around 6 times a year. Of late the place has really been average or below, there used to be giveaway dinners for points at the now closed copper ledge, we used to love their t...

This hotel is has changed owners and management. It is now a residential building for monthly rentals. You are unable to rent for shorter periods. If you are looking for budget hotel you may want to try the Sands. It is a couple of blocks of Virginia Street but is a budget hotel.

Let me start by saying we did not stay here.....& I really hate to give bad reviews but after this experience I felt it was warranted. We did walk through entire property & ate at the Top Deck Restaurant. We played slots for awhile & were never approached by anyone to order a drink. We decided to try the restaurant...

County the casino. Who is the place? That I remember my parents used to take us. I eat at the restaurant. It's very reasonable. It's one of the best slot machines. In Reno, Nevada that does pay off. Where well known for their? Palphot their slot machine. Not only the slot machine, but the restaurant is excellent. What's reasonable? Call...

This place doesn't look like it's had a face-lift since the early 80s/late 70s. The gaming machines were all new, but the rest of the joint reeked of sleaze and cheap exploitation. I never gambled there, but I did stop in for a quick bite to eat a few times and I honestly felt like I had stepped back in...

I stumbled across the Cal Neva while walking to the near by Wells Fargo ATM. I came in to use the restroom but ended up staying for hours. That was 5 years ago and I continue to return to this day. The reason I continue to come back is that since that first visit, many of the staff remembered who...

We got there and were told the wait would be about an hour, appear to be only two waitresses working. Multiple people walked away so we fought it may be less wait than that. Well it was about 30 minutes. We were seated and we then saw there was also a male waiter and bus boy as well. We had...
