I was very disappointed with my weekend get away at the Nugget. Upon arrival, I was sent to a room, in the Carson towers, only to find that maintenance was working in the room. When I called down to the front desk, they queried me as they had no clue what was going on. They wanted me to come back... More

Absolute awful experience. The shower water temperature CANNOT be regulated at night and they're aware. We were given a "quiet room" and couldn't sleep because of the music blaring. The room was small and didn't look at all like it advertised. The bathtub looked old and dirty. We were compensated the resort fee and was told we may not receice... More

We stayed at the golden gate Nov 17-20 2016. The hotel is very old and small! Our room was clean but smaller than a motel 6 room. Our room had only one wall outlet and an extension cord. Bath room was comically small. Hotel and casino are very boring, restaurant was very very expensive. We wont ever stay again, Four... More

Had an awesome time there at Golden Gate hotel. One of the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. She is African American and short... i don't know her name. My 3 floor room was cute and clean. I had room 308. My next trip. I will definitely stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at The Golden Gate Hotel based on the location, price and reviews. Parking was also free which was a huge plus. We stayed in the smallest room (single queen); it was great. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotless, the air conditioning functioned properly and we received 3 nights of great sleep. Yes, the... More

My husband and I arrived late after 1am. They kept my room which was nice I think only because I said we wouldn't arrive until after. The check in lady was nice however my reservation stated a queen bed, when we got a double bed. The room was nice bathroom clean. It was ok just for us sleeping there for... More

We stayed at the Golden Gate on November 6th. We stayed in one of the suites. Very nice accommodations for the cost. $69 including resort fee plus taxes. Lots of room with nice seating. The shower was huge. Complimentary water and coffee in the room. We were on the side way from Fremont Street so no noise at all. Ate... More

Stayed at the Golden Gate October 26-29th. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Especially Sharina!! Had a room that faced Freemont, was very noisy but that was to be expected. Casino floor was fun and lively. 10x odds on craps and all Blackjack is 3:2

We really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Gate. We come over Christmas with a friend of ours. The room was very clean and nice. It was small but the quality made up for it. We could hear the music from the Freemont Experience, but it wasn't so loud we couldn't sleep. HOWEVER there was a garage truck that came... More

I go and stay here every year. This year was special and I asked Billie if I could upgrade my room to a suite. She was able to get me a reasonable rate. She was the best desk clerk I have met there. She took the time to tell me things about the room and the amenities. She is a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Accurately billed as Las Vegas' "Most Historic Hotel," the Golden Gate has stood the test of time and then some. Since opening as the Hotel Nevada in 1906, this modest and cozy corner establishment has stood placidly at One Fremont Street while the town -- and the world -- changed around it. Most notably, the Fremont Street Experience was built right outside its door. Very little has changed to compromise the hotel's old school charm in the intervening years, although the Golden Gate has made improvements and modernized. The hotel remains proudly dwarfed by its neighbors, at just 106 rooms. The rooms themselves, on the other hand, have been updated and include modern amenities like flat screen televisions and iHome clock radios. The casino is just as active as opening day -- and just as intimate -- although now its boasts Dealer Dancers from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. nightly. Its shrimp cocktail -- widely acknowledged as the first ever served in Las Vegas -- is as popular as the day it was introduced. Even as Las Vegas builds toward the heavens, the Golden Gate keeps close to the ground, rooted in its rich and wildly successful history. ... more   less
