I've been staying at the Downtown Grand when visiting Vegas but I play at the Main Street mostly. They sent me a card for a free room so I figured I'd take advantage. The outside of the building looks a little old and run down but once you enter the casino, you can tell it has been remodeled. The ceilings...

we have been staying at the California hotel the same time each year for the past three years. have gotten the room we requested, no problem. The hotel is right next to the Freemont Street experience. No need to drive if you take advantage of the hotels free shuttle and the close proximity to all the entertainment. Aloha Specialties is...

I go to Vegas about once or twice a year and for the first time, decided to try a couple days in the Freemont Street area and decided on the California Hotel and then stayed at the strip for the rest of the trip. I was very happy that I tried this hotel! My husband and I were very impressed!...

We recently enjoyed our trip to the Cal and were most pleased to their recently remodeled West Tower rooms. The bathroom was spacious & had a modernized flair. The walk-in shower had glass sliding doors with a ventilation system which kept the steam from fogging up the mirror as it would in the old rooms. The commode took a bit...

This hotel was somewhat redone. Rooms were pretty average but clean. I had absolutely no view. The casino is pretty small but most downtown casinos are. It's fairly outdated with some machines still spitting out coins. I ate 1 restaurant that was pretty good. It's a little ways off of Fremont and it's a little sketchy getting to Fremont if...

Where to start? I stayed in the upgraded room and it was clean and quiet. The drinks at the bar were good. The staff was nice. The oxtails were fatty but good. I lost money but understandable. I lost my wallet and security found it. Outstanding! The only thing that ruined it for me was the reservation process. I booked...

The Cal is like a second home to me. It is such a familiar place. All of the service people are friendly & nice. They almost feel like family. I love the penny machines especially. Every time I visit there seems to be new ones! We celebrated my cousin's 83rd birthday at The Noodle Shop for lunch. The staff were...

The California Hotel & Casino in classic downtown Las Vegas is a fantastic bang for your buck! We stayed from Monday to Thursday for $36/night with No Resort Fees! We stayed in an older room (renovated rooms available with showers only) because we wanted a bathtub. It was just fine. Bright, clean and relatively quiet. Beds were comfortable, room was...

My wife and I stayed at the California Hotel 3-10-17 to 3-15-17. We stayed in the newly renovated room in the North Tower. The room size is the same as before however the finishes are first class. The bathroom is fully renovated and the tub has been taken out and a walk in shower was installed. Eating at the Market...

I lived in Hawaii for 12 years, so I stay at The Cal on my annual trip to Vegas. The Aloha spirit is live and well at The Cal, from the smiling customers, to the dealers and servers at the Cafe. Even the unrenovated rooms are fine. This past visit, we stayed at The Cal one night, then at Main...
