This place is about 20 minutes away from the strip. The hotel is a bit dated. The atrium is amazing. The price for the rooms great. The resort fee was ridiculous. But that is another subject all together. There is a great Western shop inside...More
Stay at Samstown every year. It's about 20 mins from the strip on the boulder highway. It is an excellent off strip hotel, casino, bingo hall and bowling center. It has old fashioned looks with modern facilities. The best thing about this hotel casino is...More
Not only will I come back to this particular Hotel I do every single time in Las Vegas. Everyone from the front desk to all staff that you meet are extremely friendly and attentive. As much as I love this property it was an honor...More

Great stay for a hotel off the beaten track of the busy Las Vegas strip. Rooms could use a bit of refurbishing but all in all a great place to hang your hat while in Vegas. We stay here 1-2 times a year and always...More

Archie is correct, depending on your idea of a block. It's quite a walk to anything around there. My suggestion is to rent a car if you want to move around the city. I always do, mainly because I like to come and go as I please. Also, I don't know the neighborhoods that well off the strip, so I feel safer in a car than walking anywhere, especially on Boulder Highway. On another note, Sam's Town has food 24/7 if you're hungry. They have some good places to eat. I suggest looking at Google Maps and seeing what you might be interested in checking out.
